Amazon Basics 3/8 Inch Drive Click Torque Wrench, 15-80 ft.-lb, 20.4-108.5 Nm

Bought this from Amazon warehouse for nearly half price. It had obviously been returned because the screws holding the ratchet head were loose. Tightened them up. Perfect. Some reviews mentioned that they couldn't hear when the required torque was reached. I could hear fine and I'm no spring chicken. The adjustable handle is tight to adjust but works fine . Also some mentioned it wou9fit in the case. Just adjust the torque setting so it fits and make sure it's the right way around. You need good eyesight to read the settings or glasses like most of us. Great value . Ii wouldn't hesitate to recommend it for trade or diy

It works but the accuracy is poor. Also, as this wrench is designed for Imperial, the metric digit is a bit weird, such as 40.7.

I saw the price of this thought at that it would be a massive risk in buying with intention for professional use. How surprised was I!? Upon opening the plastic black case that arrives with clips, I induced it to my hands was overwhelmed by the quality. What a massive surprise from Basics, keep it up!

Fell apart twice while using it, had to chase tiny parts across the garage floor to be able to reassemble and complete the job. Torque adjustment varies between being super tight and worryingly loose, to the point where you can't really be sure the correct torque is selected. Ratchet mechanism is unreliable at best, but has no bypass setting to fall back on - at least none that I could figure out. Buy cheap, buy twice.

This was way better than I expected. Feels substantial and worked really well on its first outing, changing a crank shaft pulley. Much better quality than the branded one that I returned as it felt nothing in comparison to this. Recommended

I bought this because I read an online article that tested the accuracy of a number of torque wrenches, and the Amazon 1/2 inch drive torque wrench was one of the most accurate of those tested. I bought the 3/8 inch drive version, which is unbelievably cheap compared to other well known brands. It actually feels a solid piece of kit and comes in a nice plastic box to keep it in. A couple of things I observed from using it. As mentioned in other reviews the torque wrench is essentially an imperial measurement torque wrench with a metric scale added. Makes the fine adjustment a bit strange. The other thing I found strange was the action of the lock knob on the bottom of the handle that stops the torque wrench moving from the set value. When I got it I turned the knob to lock the setting. I expected the knob to rotate say 90 to 180 degrees to lock or going the other way 90 to 180 degrees to unlock. While the knob stops turning in the unlock direction, it just turns and turns and turns in the lock direction. I assumed it was broken and was thinking I would have to return it when I discovered the setting was locked even though the lock knob could still be turned. I did not have a problem hearing the click and recognising when it had reached full torque as mentioned in other reviews but I have only used it a couple of times. Also I initially set it at a lower value than I needed to check that it would click out when it reached the desired value, before cranking it up to achieve the final value.

This is an excellent product. Compared to the alternatives that I have found on Amazon I must say the Amazon basics version is one of the best. No weird colors just solid construction and functions properly it feels like solid metal and is an excellent addition to my toolbox. It's also important to note that it is rated to a higher level 80 ft pounds versus some of the alternatives that are similar in price but rated to a lower level all in all I am a huge fan of this product
