⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐⭐ Delicious Cacao — My Go-To for Baking & Drinking
I’ve been using Anthony’s Organic Cocoa Powder (2 lb, Gluten Free, Non GMO) for a while now, and it’s earned a permanent spot in my pantry. This is our 3rd bag. Pros: -Rich, deep chocolate flavor — just right for baking, smoothies, or hot cocoa -Smooth, fine grind — blends effortlessly, no gritty bits -Clean and natural — nothing extra in it -Great value for the size — this 2-lb bag goes a long way. Other brands cost way more. -Less bitter than other unsweetened cacao's I've tried Cons (tiny nitpicks): -Because it’s natural/unalkalized, it’s a little more acidic than “Dutch-processed” cocoas -The bag is simple — a sturdier resealable container would be nice. The zip top doesn't work great. If you want a real, rich cocoa powder you can trust in recipes or as a drink mix, this is one of the best I’ve tried. It’s pure, flavorful, and won’t defeat your wallet. Highly recommended!

DELICIOUS, puts supermarket cocoas to shame.
I'm an avid baker and amateur chocolatier, but I'd never purchased an expensive cocoa product before this. However, I'd started to have problems with the quality and baking reliability of store bought cocoas. I wanted a nice dark cocoa (dutch processed) because it tasted better than standard supermarket cocoas, but then the baked goods wouldn't rise correctly because of the increased alkalinity. (Flat brownies are frustrating!) Then I bought a new blended cocoa at my local supermarket that tasted just awful, so it was finally time to up the ante and shell out the big bucks for a decent tasting cocoa. Tough choice on Amazon if you've read some of the highly rated reviews, they vary among maybe 3-4 different favored brands with some fierce opinions! This particular product was loved by many but a few said it was clumpy or had no flavor or was inferior to the more expensive brands sold on Amazon. However, there was a limit to the number of $$$ I was willing to shell out so I gave this one a go. Once received, I opened the pouch and first took a deep sniff. My god, it has an actual cocoa smell, not just the smell of dust like supermarket cocoas! I was immediately optimistic, and set out to make a fairly basic chewy/fudgy cocoa brownie recipe, nothing special, no added ingredients like I usually throw in. Which I then promptly and thoroughly inhaled in less than 24 hours. HEAVENLY. The flavor was so gentle but noticeably chocolatey that I never feel the need to make a brownie recipe requiring baking chocolate again. I'm in love. This stuff is GREAT. The price point is not too bad compared to other organic raw cocoas sold here so I think it's a really nice starting point for the picky baker. I'm never going back to supermarket cocoa again. Now I gotta up my ante on the chocolate chips for my cookies as well.... if anyone has a recommendation, put it in the comments. Oh, the "reclosable" ziploc top is pretty much unusable, but this stuff was so good I'm not even taking off a star. Happy eating!!

Very Happy Customer
For years I faithfully purchased Hershey’s brand. Growing up, there was always a big tin inthe pantry. After I married, I baked a lot, and I bought it many times. Probably somewhere between sixty and one hundred times. Now we’re watching carbs and we’re not all that excited about baked goods, but we love cocoa and use a lot of it during winter. What’s Christmas without hot cocoa for Santa? I don’t bake a lot these days but we ran out of cocoa. I bought a big box store’s brand. It was cheap compared to Hershey’s which was not available at the time. I had to use twice the amount to make a cup of cocoa, and it was pathetically weak and tasteless. I had read somewhere that Hershey was worried about supply issues and they were stockpiling it. I don’t know if that’s true, but it wasn’t available. I’ve bought Anthony’s almond and coconut flours for years, and their cream powder, so I purchased the two pound bag. It made a much better cup of cocoa than the store brand. That nay sound like a low bar, but this cocoa is far superior to the lesser brands. It hurts to pay so much, and we go through it quickly. Buying sugar free cocoa mixes is ruinously expensive, so I looked around and found some recipes. The one I settled on, after trial and error is also the easiest. It call for 3/4 of a.cup of cocoa, 3/4 of a cup of cream powder and 1 cup of sweetener. I hate erythritol, so I use Allulose or Splenda. Both are good sugar subs, but I prefer Splenda. I used it for years because at one time, it was one of two brands that stores carried. Allulose has a strong after taste to me, although my guys don’t mind it, and don’t think it does. I’m on maintenance so I have the luxury of using what I like. I dump all the ingredients through a sifter. Cocoa can clump, and sifting it ensures it doesn’t. Then I give the sifted give it a good stir with a whisk. I make a double batch, because we drink it a lot. I keep it in an airtight container on my counter. You can add some spices to it if you like, but my kids are purists, so I don’t. I add two tablespoons to a cup of hot water, and stir it well. I plunk some Choc Zero marshmallows in mine, and they are fabulous. I recently found a 24 ounce bag of Hershey’s cocoa at the store, when I started running out of cocoa. I bought it for comparison. It was a 24 ounce bag fot $12.49. I bought it because it was there. The Hershey’s leaves more sediment if you don’t stir it vigorously. I’m torn, so what I’m doing is buying Anthony’s, and in an emergency, I will buy Hershey’s. I did make some low carb brownies for Santa, and the resident elf really liked them, so Anthony’s for the win! You can’t go wrong with this cocoa. If you can’t afford it the buy Hershey’s. It’s a close second. There are good things about both of them, but since I buy Anthony’s cream powder, I tend to buy their cocoa as well. If you’re dairy free, they have coconut milk powder too. They’ve got you covered. IIC tartingcocoa mix up with mini marshmallows isn’t your thing, a splash of zero sugar peppermint creamer is good. My family prefers that to marshmallows. Philistines!

Anthony's rocks!
Love this cocoa powder. Great price for the quantity. Been buying it for about 4 years now. I use it for baking sweets but also for adding to my coffee. I will continue to buy Anthony's as long as it's available
