Limited Scope but Easy App/Interface
We have a few STEM toys so this isn't completely new to us and in particular is quite similar to a ranger programmable robot kit we got earlier this year which looks a bit WallE and was great fun getting to grips with but was a fair bit more in-depth than this with much more advanced functionalities (and cost about 60 quid more) but what this one lacks in expansion possibilities and longevity it makes up for in the very simple and easy to use app and interface - it's a great option for beginners just starting out with an interest and although limited in what it can do and how much you can learn from this, any youngster who has taken the time to go through it will no doubt still stay attached to their new little buddy for a while and it's a good road test for something more expensive and advanced.

Great little fun introduction to coding
This little fellow is so cute, I even found myself chatting to him! He seems to have a little personality and is very cute looking. This will definitely encourage children to want to play with him, and get him to do things. He is very simple to use, and for an older child (ten and over) I think he would very soon lose his appeal. But for younger children, he is perfect. The app is easy to download, and then it’s very simple to start giving instructions and getting him to move around etc.My daughter is a primary school teacher, and her class of 5-6 year olds are going to just love this. He’s fairly compact, so will be easy for her to take to school, and equally to leave there as he won’t take up too much precious cupboard space. This is a very fun way to learn something as important as coding.

Good intro
An intuitive and easy to use app that helps kids start out on a basic programming journey. Cody is much smaller than we thought he would be, but he is well made and I'd say just about the right size for the different uses.It requires some time and patience and also some creativity, but it's a great way for the kids to play around and get the satisfaction of seeing the results of their work.

Fab wee device
Our kids have been taught Scratch at school and the software that controls this device is called mBlock and can be downloaded for free for iOS and Android. We’ve downloaded on to our iPad and it’s really good. If you are used to Scratch you’ll find mBlock similar. It’s colour coordinated drag and drop blocks making coding very simply and reducing the chances of syntax errors. It even introduces more advanced concepts such as variables, loops, conditional statements etc. It’s great for kids as an introduction to coding and the fact that you can pair to the code rocky device is the icing on the cake. The device itself isn’t particularly large but has went down well with the kids with its also it Wall-e styled look. I like the fact that you are actually writing code for device rather than just a sprite on the screen that you would normally do with Scratch. If you’ve used a BBC microbit then I guess it’s a similar concept except that the Codey rocky device is a bit more sophisticated as it can move but it’s a similar idea with its LED displays being in common. Overall this is a fab wee device with free software that will be very familiar to any Scratch users.

Great fun
So far my daughter has been playing around with the basics of programming this little robot. There is so much you can do with it and the possibilities are endless. Very good tools to use with it and loads of fun

I wish I could rate it six stars.
Wow. My son's new favourite thing, and it's helping me learn what I need to know in order to keep up with him. Works beautifully with android and iPad. Great design and aesthetics. Sturdy. Easy to use but complex to master. Couldn't be happier.
