It's Worth the Money
Excellent hammer. I work on heavy equipment and I use a 4lbs mini sledge more than just about any other tool I own. I went with the 30 HRC "soft" face. Better for hammering chrome coated pins on track hoe buckets and such. For those wondering, "soft" is misleading. It's not soft at all. It will eventually deform as opposed to chip and is less likely to damage what you're bashing. I was torn between this one and the Groz. Same handle technology, which is great... stout, low vibrations, feels great in hand. Slightly different heads. To be honest, I needed a 4 pounder quick (my $20 DeWalt head came off) and the Wilton was available overnight... free on my Prime. The Groz would have taken several days. It is a great tool and worth the money. I recommend the soft face, unless you're just doing straight demolition. Which I believe it would be fine for that as well.

Best sledge hammer out there
As a customer, I’ve been thoroughly impressed with the Wilton B.A.S.H 24" Soft Face Sledge Hammer (40824). This tool has exceeded my expectations in every way. The 8-pound head provides excellent power for heavy-duty tasks, yet it’s manageable enough for precision work. The soft face is a fantastic feature, as it prevents surface damage while still delivering a strong impact—perfect for projects that require a careful touch. The 24-inch handle is well-designed, offering a comfortable grip that reduces hand fatigue even during long sessions. What truly sets this hammer apart is the unbreakable handle technology. I’ve put it through some tough jobs, and it’s held up remarkably well without any signs of wear or weakness. Overall, this sledgehammer is worth every penny. Whether you’re a professional or a serious DIYer, the Wilton B.A.S.H is a reliable, high-quality tool that won’t let you down. Highly recommended!

Worked perfectly
I used this product- sledgehammer- in my event for our local festival. I purchased the 6 lb one. We have a women's skillet throwing contest and a men's sledgehammer toss. The crowd watching this event was huge, and it was a great success. The only flaw we had was my iron skillets broke in two. The crowd loved the sledgehammer toss so well, it was decided that next year, the women would throw the 6 lb one and I would get a 10 lb one for the men. It held up great after many a toss and not nary a breakage in any part. Excellent!!

My new favorite purse.
At first I wasnt a fan of the length of the hammer too small for my hands but I've grown to like it.
