VTech DS6151 2-Line Expandable Cordless Phone with Digital Answering System and Caller ID with 4 Extra DS6101 Handsets

This VTech "2-Line Cordless Phone System" is easy to setup and works well in our large shop. We run two businesses out of the same building and needed a 2-line cordless system with a lot of handsets. We use the 5 in this set and 2 additional we ordered separately, but the system can support up to 12 handsets. Here are my observations:Pros -+ Basic Setup; provided basic functionality right out of the box+ Advanced Setup; programing the directory and answering machine was straight-forward and easy to do following the instructions+ Functionality; Caller ID, answering machine, speakerphone, and ability to set individual ringtones on each lines+ Range; works well in our large building, with good clarity in every room+ Quality; handsets and base-station are good physical quality and look professional in our shopCons -- A handset sitting on the base-station will ring, even if you have a call on the base-station speaker. The ringing will be heard by the person on the other end and it is quite loud with one of my customers saying, "Wow, that really blew my ears out." The solution is to take the handset off the base-station when using the speakerphone, but it isn't optimal.Highly Recommended!CFH

About a decade ago we bought a VTech cordless phone set for one of our business phone lines. To this day, those phoned continue to work and work well. All the numbers are worn off the keypad at this point. That's a testament to how much use they've had. On our second line we had bought the top rated Panasonic cordless phones. They lasted only a couple of years and we replaced them with other VTechs.Even though our old phones still work properly, we were excited that we could now get VTech phones with hold, multiple lines, phone to phone intercom and the ability to page other handsets for other people to pick up the line, that we bought this new set.When I opened the box, I was surprised that physically, these phones were identical to our decade old handsets. Perfect in my opinion. Everything is in the same place for the most part as the old phones which our muscle memory is already set for. What I think is happening, is that VTech is able to offer these highly capable phones at such a low price is because their not having to retool everything.VTech deserves real respect for this product.

We work in a small office and had an expensive phone system previously that was complicated and had some issues. My vest's office had this phone system and I has had it for a long time. I asked her how she liked it and she said she was very happy with it. She showed it to me and I liked that it was simple, easy to operate and had exactly the number of handsets that we had in office staff. it is fairly easy to program. I had to look up a YouTube video to figure out the code to put in for the handsets to be compatible with the base but once I got them programmed, everything was great. 10/10 recommend!

I'm an old retired telephone man (AT&T, SBC, SW Bell). I had a 12 year old 2-line VTech system that had served us well but one hand set was hard for me to hear on and the battery's wouldn't hold like they did when new. I never really liked cordless phones because they were always causing trouble (noisy, buzzing in the back ground) and us repair tech's would have to tell the customer that their high $$ phone was causing their problem. I thought the old VTech phones we had were good but not as good as a hard wired phone. These new VTech 2-line phones with the DECT 6.0 Digital technology are AMAZING. Their quality is better than my AT&T 2-line hard wired phones. VTech phones are the best I have ever used and these new ones are the best of the best! I had bought a VTech single line phone about two years ago when I moved one of my phone lines to VOIP and that phone has the DECT 6.0 Digital technology and the quality on it has been superb. Purchased these phones for use in a small business. I had read the reviews prior to purchase as was a little skeptical but the price was good for the number of handsets. We have used the phones for about 4 months now without any issues. We have not used the answering machine function as we do not need it so I cannot comment on how that part works. We are pleased with the voice quality and have received no complaints from callers regarding the voice quality on their end. The ringer volume can be adjusted on each handset for that particular handset. A feature we use and like. We return the handset to it's base when not in use and have had no issues with battery life. Again, we have only had for about 4 months but we are pleased with this purchase, especially for such an affordable price. FYI, the little blue remote included has nothing to do with the phone system.
