Usborne history learning
I like these beginners Osborne books. Informative. Readable. Packed with knowledge in a child friendly cartoon like picture format with real artefact photos throughout. My only issue was I would have liked them in hardback as my family often wear out paperbacks with use!

Interesting but very short books
These books are good and were well received by my daughters, age7 and age9, however I was surprised with how little writing is included in them - they are mainly pictures with a small number of facts. If you are looking for a more detailed fact book I would not recommend these, but for a little overview these are perfect.

A good introduction.
A perfect little introduction to the main ages of history for a 5 and 6 year old. I would have loved to have a book in Mesopotamia included also, but that’s frequently overlooked. Not overburdened with details but just enough to maintain my 5yo’s interest. The other child can read it for himself, which is perfect.

Very good
I have been reading this every night to my 7 year old before bed. She likes to read it herself as well. Very good to supplement what they are doing at school now. It has nice wee pics and simple sentences appropriate for their age.
