Great tool to make cable railings happen quickly
Great tool and essential to finishing my Cable Bullet cable railing. Easy to use - only takes a couple of pumps to clamp the ferrule down tight!

Great value in time and effort saved
I couldn't have completed the job without this. Needed to do 90 crimps on stainless and had only used a manual non-hydraulic crimper before, so I was not looking forward to this job. It was a little cumbersome until I remembered the crimper stabilizer that I had also bought on the 'zon. Once I attached it I was off to the races. I only ruined one connector and that was on me. Turns out if you compress the clip without inserting the cable it doesn't work too well. It lasted through the first two patios totaling 90 crimps (91 if you count the one I botched) and I have another two patios to go. If it fails before I finish them I will update this review. I did have to apply a little more pressure to the "On/Off" wheel to get a good crimp later in the job, so maybe that tiny valve does wear some with usage. If other reviewers are not tightening that enough, it would explain why they are not getting solid crimp connections. You should definitely feel some solid back pressure against the compressing handle for a good crimp. If you can keep pumping, either the On switch is not rotated firmly enough or there is a hydraulic leak and you will need to do some maintenance. A great value all around in my book. Even if I have to buy a second one to complete all 4 patios I will think I got a fair deal for the amount of work and time saved.

good tool for strong hands
work ok. need good hand strength. might consider small bolt for crimping. would be much easier but would have to be careful not to crimp to much.

Doesn't work at all
This didn't work the first time I used it, so I made sure I had bought the right size cable, Muzata post screws, and this crimper. I thought it had come the wrong die, but it is the 1/8" hexagonal die. What happens is that when you pump the handles until the die halves touch each other, the tube part of the screw is just slightly compressed and the cable slides easily out. So it just doesn't work at all. Also, it is very awkward to use - you really need 3 hands, 2 very strong ones to pump the crimper and a third hand to hold the cable in place.

Works
Works great. 1/8" die that comes with doesn't work forn1/8 railing, but device works. Bought a second one today for a larger project. EDIT: broke after 50 uses. Probably a bad unit. Will replace.

1/8 die to big
The tool works great. Holds compression. The 1/8 die is to big. I had to grind down the tops of both dies in other to make a tight connection on the bolts. It was clearly off.

Well built
This crimper is built well and comes in a nice storage case along with a spare set of seals if you should ever need them. I have crimped over 225 crimps with it and had no issues. The only thing I found was a little cumbersome was the handle on the crmper its a little far away when trying to pump it making it a 2 hand operation so it works best if you have another person to hold the cable in while you crimp it.
