Gnit Kindle Edition

Just saw this play at TFANA. This script is funny and witty and most importantly it is a modern absurd theater play - a rare sighting.

The good part: the writing of the one-person "crowd" scenes was genius funny. Otherwise, although extremely clever and beautifully worded--it really doesn't amount to much emotionally or philosophically. Ibsen's Peer Gynt is a giant compared to this very "small" re-working.

Not sure I "get" it-- might be a generational thing.

Gnit is not a tidy play. It is not a conventional play. And it is not an attempt to imitate the towering bulk of Peer Gynt.It is, however, one of the funniest plays ever written, and it hides within that comedy a piercing exploration of what it means to be yourself, and of what value that is to anyone.
