Definitely a must
I used to do dog grooming and this was the best stuff. I only used it twice and it worked good for small quick clips.

Quick reacting !!
Stops bleeding immediately with just a small amount of product. A more flat and round container would make it easier to apply the product directly from the container.

Immediate effect
Updated review after using the product a few times:I trim my dogs nails at home and have occasionally cut the nail back too far and cut into the quick. Thankfully I have only had to use this product a few times, but it stopped the nail bleeding within seconds. This product stops the bleeding much faster than just holding pressure which can take up to 10 minutes.Pros: Works immediately. Does not cause pain when applied. Dog does not attempt to lick it off. Easy to use and only requires a tiny amount so the container will last a long time. Not messy. (I have a wet Q-tip on hand and dip it into the powder when needed).Cons: To date, I have not noted any cons other than my own process. I place the container at my side, with the lid off, while trimming my dogs nails so if I need to apply some it is readily available. Using this process I have bumped the container and knocked it over spilling some of the contents. However, I do recommend having the product in arms reach as you are trimming nails so you can apply immediately and reduce the amount of bleeding.

Great product
This stuff is awesome. My so works as a vet tech and said this is what they use at their clinic. My dogs hate getting their nails trimmed. This stuff stops any quick bleeding quickly sealing the wound. It’s a great value for the money. Package size is adequate for the price.

Great stuff!
This powder works great on my dogs nails to stop the bleeding, (if and when I occasionally get a little too close) when trimming her nails. It also works great when I cut myself while shaving. In both cases, it stops the bleeding instantly. I'm sure it would work well on cat's nails and bird's beaks also. I used to get this powder from my vet (several years ago) and it was $10.00 for a 14 gram bottle. I just purchased this 42 gram bottle (3 times the size) for $14.95. Its last me for several years and maintains its powder form. I've bought other products from local stores and it didn't work at all and quickly turned into a rock formation in the container. I only gave it four stars on the comfort, cause it does sting very briefly when applied. I highly recommended this product for any one who trims their own pets nails. Two thumbs up!

One of the best styptic powders I have used.
If you trim your dog's nails, it's a must to have around.

stops the bleeding
stops the bleeding with normally one application. if you accidently cut the quick deeper it may take 2 applications and its sad to say i have been in this situation a time or two. but the product never fails. i love that its the fine powder i just pour some into the cap and then clear the hair from the around the dogs nail and then dip the nail right into the powder after i take and wipe it once with a paper towel to get any blood that has started to pool or make a bead of blood on the tip of the nail and then after i dip the nail i press my finger on the powder where its has sealed the wound and hold it here with a little pressure to ensure the bleeding stops. i have read that it can sting a little for the animal but i have never had a dog wine or wince at the application.

Doesn’t smell irony
The product I received was a different brand completely but that’s the only complaint
