Muc-Off chain cleaning bundle

I had never really cleaned my bike chain until I got this since I don’t want to store a bunch of chemicals for this kind of thing. I feel at ease though having this because it is made from organic material that reminds of me goo gone. It cleans your chain pretty well and works great if accompanied by their chain lube!

I got tired of clean my chain and not getting all the grit out. This gets all the oil and grit out. Can tell it works when the cleaner changes from yellow to a nasty black liquid after just a couple revolutions of the crank.

I loved this thing when I got it. Its pretty easy to use and gets the job done cleaning your chain. Its nice seeing the dirty solution in the bottom tank but honestly after trying this I just bought a spray bottle of the Muc-Off drivetrain cleaner and a brush and use that on the chain and the rest of the drivetrain and my brush seems to be more effective and easier to use. Even if you choose to use this, you still aren't getting the cassette, derailleur, or anything else clean. Just the chain. Basically you are going to have to scrub with a brush anyway so may as well skip the special chain cleaning device and scrub the chain with that same brush. I love the Muc-Off cleaning products and lube, but I probably won't use my cleaning device again. Just my brush (also Muc-Off brand haha)

I have had 3 of the PT versions of this over time. They all seem to fail & break pretty easily. The also have parts that run down quickly, like sponges, and take a ton of solvent. This one seems to be made far better, uses less solvent, and the results were impressive. I have only cleaned one chain with it so far, but was very impressed with the process & quality!

Does its job

I use this chain cleaning tool after any long or dusty rides with my bike (which is frequent). The process is simple and the muc-off fluid can be purchased in large containers. Just keep the small bottle applicator that comes with the chain cleaner tool to make filling easier. My process is to wash the bike, degrease the chain with this chain cleaner, dry the chain with a towel or old shirt, and then reapplication of chain lube once the chain is fully dry. Tip: Be careful not to get water in the top portion where you add the degreasing liquid. The water will react with the chemicals.
