Heartwarming Little Book
I remember this from when I was a child and bought a copy for my own kid. It's an adorable story about a mildly bratty kid learning a life lesson and learning to share with his newborn sister. Great art style too.

Love the adventure and problem solving for toddlers
I bought most (8) of the Ezra Jack Keats series for my 2 year old. Love that I can give him a series of stories with the same main character who is also a little black boy on an adventure.

Keat's Peter is such a sweet kid, dealing with typical sibling jealousy
This book is a classic. Keat's Peter is such a sweet kid, dealing with typical sibling jealousy. His "running away" is hilarious, as is his "hiding" in the house. Both are very gentle and realistic. His parents roll with the flow and stay in the background of the book, letting Peter come to his own realizations about the new baby.

I bought this for my daughter who is now 60!
I first bought this book for my daughter who is almost 60. It was one of her favorite books because she had a little chair that she loved. Since then I buy Ezra Keats books for grandchildren and friends. It is always well received.

Excellent book
This is an amazing book. It’s perfect for children who are about to gain younger siblings. I get to as a gift for the ones I know. Also, when I first encountered this book in the 80s, it was one of the few I could find with non-white characters.

This book is very good and teaches your kids to think about their siblings without explicetly saying it in direct words. I have seen my older one giving/sharing his things with my daughter and i feel great about this purchase. It actually teaches them sone good values in a very nice way.

I have a vague memory of seeing this book and having it read to me as a child in the 70's and was thrilled to come across it again. The first in Ezra Jack Keats series "A snowy day" and this one that followed it were the first US children's books to portray an african american child as the leading character, and to show a multi-cultural Brooklyn of the 1960's. Perhaps why it was so memorable to me as a child in England. Possibly better known across the pond, where the author is cherished, it would be wonderful to see the series more widely available here in the UK, especially when I find it can still be difficult to find positive/main images of black people in children's books. I would recommend every one of this authors books, simple tales lovingly told. Just introduced them to my two year old daughter and hope they will stay with her too.
