EVA Foam Rollers

I first purchased the Amazon Basics roller because it was much cheaper than this roller and most of the reviews on it were pretty good. But when that roller arrived, it was so hard that rolling on it was painful, so I returned it for this one, which is made of a different material and was supposed to be a little softer. As it turned out, it is softer--though still plenty firm to serve its purpose and not compress under weight--and it is clearly made of a better material. While I'm not sure why the price of this roller is as high as it is and I suspect it has a considerable profit margin, it does allow me to use it as intended for physical therapy, unlike the cheaper product. The material it is made of is ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA), which, per Google-generated AI, "is a versatile, non-toxic polymer known for its flexibility, cushioning, and durability, used widely in soft footwear soles, protective padding, yoga mats, toys, and even in solar panel films due to its impact resistance, light weight, and excellent shock absorption."

Needing something other than a rolled up pillow to do post op leg exercises and going to physical theory they were using a similar roll for two of the exercises, so I started searching. This fit the bill perfectly. It's very sturdy, holding it's shape and a great size. The diameter is the same as what I'm using at PT and length wise it's a perfect fit, allowing both legs (or feet) to rest on it, and easy to store when not in use. I did see several reviews talking about it being too hard, while it is 'hard' I didn't find it uncomfortable either under my ankle or knee. If you already have pain in areas which would be in contact with this, you may want to put something soft over it.

The foam roller is very firm no give just what I need to do my back exercises in the chair. it fits perfectly across the inside of the chair behind my back so I can lean back and forth. it is durable, and smooth.

I've used this for a couple of decades, and had to buy a new one because my child "stole" mine, lol. It's the perfect density and size! Great for runners or anyone who needs to work on tight muscles!

It a very firm roller but perfect for me. If you are new to rolling this is not the best place to start. The product is very good though.
