Kids love it.
We’ve had and used this pottery wheel for a few years. It’s held up nicely. Both my kids love making their own bowls. It has a right hand/left hand feature which allows for opposite rotation which is great for my family of lefties and righties. One tip: if the clay is too dry it’s hard to mold. Wrap it in a damp towel and let it absorb the moisture prior to use and make sure hands are wet or it will cause resistance. We’re happy with this product and are considering another so our kids can work independently together.

It's definitely a "beginners" pottery wheel
Overall it's a pretty good very basic "beginner's" pottery wheel -- good mainly as an inexpensive tool for learning the basic techniques such as centering. It has a pretty weak motor though and the wheel can easily stall, but after I replaced the motor with a more powerful one (http://www.amazon.com/6300RPM-Shaft-Magnetic-Motor-Hobby/dp/B00BG61S44?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00), the pottery wheel was easier to work with.

Great!! No so noisy like everyone says
Ok...I have no idea what everyone else is talking about with the noise!! Lol Yes. It makes noise...it's a pottery wheel!!!! It is not unbearable...if someone is watching something or reading yes don't do it around them. Seems awesome so far! Simple, easy starter wheel!

Faulty product
Gave this to my Granddaughter. Put it together and it wouldn't work. To much a hassle to send back so provided a learning opportunity for my Grandson. We took it apart and found a broken wire at the on/off switch. Repaired and good to go

Wonderful for Child with Parental Supervision, Depending on Age of Child
I can only report what my son has told me. My granddaughter uses it with his supervision and both have enjoyed creating several pieces within just a week or two from hre receiving it as a Christmas gift. I'd classify that as a successful gift!

Clay needs to be softened alot in order to mold.
The items the wheel came with were good in use. The wheel spun well and did stop when too much pressure was applied. It has been used twice by my 10 yrs old granddaughter . She says she loves it.

Would not recommend. The pottery wheel is not able to sustain very much pressure.
Very frustrating to use. The wheel keeps stopping with ordinary pressure. Start and stop. Start and stop. Start and stop. The tool support accessory is impossible to put on the machine and has no directions to figure out how it might be mounted. In fact, this machine comes with very little instructions. I would not recommend this at all. It should be called toy pottery wheel, not pottery wheel for beginners. Very very disappointed.

Bought as a present and the recipient really loves it. I have since seen a couple of things they've made.

Very noisy when it's running...otherwise, it seems to be okay for trying out your hands at pottery. I do think it is quite overpriced though for what you get in the package.

Too costly and too noisy for a toy.
