This kit saved another Sega Dreamcast
I bought a used Dreamcast as the seller said the controller input doesn't work but other than that is powers on. After some research the common issue was the fuse on the controller board that typically fails. I bought this kit for the self healing fuse and to do the battery mod upgrade. I didn't use the diode and resistor or the upgraded RGB LED light as I read the original Sega ones are high quality and I wanted to keep the original light of the Dreamcast. The kit fixed the issue and another Dreamcast has been saved. It's been a few weeks since I fixed the issue and everything works perfect.

Well worth the money and wonderful upgrade for Dreamcast!
I really like this kit! I wanted to upgrade my dreamcast controller board since it was getting so annoying updating the time everyday due to dead battery. This kit gave me everything I needed to update my controller board. This was my first time soldering and I watched a “how to” video and just installed the kit along with the video. The led is bright and I love how it is multicolor rgb. The parts are good quality and with around 25 hours of playtime I have had no issues.

Works well. Installs easy. A good option if you only need to do a couple DC's
This is a well assembled kit of medium-high quality components and is a great option for someone who is upgrading their Dreamcast. If you are upgrading more than 2 Dreamcast systems then save yourself a lot of money and build your own kit on Newark or Mouser instead. You can skip the ML2032 battery and use a CR2032 with a DO-34 diode to save a couple extra bucks if your are bulk rebuilding systems.

It works. Cap is of low quailty.
The kit works and the RGB led provides a fun effect to the power light. I didn't use the resistor and capacitor with this kit. The resistor was a smaller amperage so I left the original. The capacitor brand in the kit is cheap. The Dc original cap is a high quality nichicon. It's important to replace it regardless due to its age. Luckily I found a name brand panasonic cap in my parts stash so I used that.

This was to upgrade my Dreamcast and I love the results!

Great and needed update mod.
Replaced the old parts, got a new rechargeable battery (original was dead), and installed it. Works fine. I like the rainbow LED upgrade! Adds so much character to the front of the unit.
