Black pepper with a pop!
If you like black pepper, you will love, love, love Grains of Paradise. To me, it is an enhanced flavorful, black pepper that is absolutely positively delicious! Plus, it’s healthy! It decreases inflammation, kills certain bacteria and helps burn visceral body fat. It’s a delicious win-win!

A nice replacement for everyday black pepper
I switched from black pepper to grains of paradise a few years ago, and I doubt I'll change back. Black pepper is fine if a bit bland, but GoP have a depth to them that I really enjoy. They are easy to overlook in a cooked dish, but when they're missing I notice.I use a hand grinder for mine, and it's about the same as grinding black pepper if that matters to you. I picked this brand because I've purchased other items from them (turmeric, pepper flakes, Ceylon cinnamon) and they're all good.If you looking for something slightly different, then I would recommend you take a chance. No, it's not going to change your world but then again, it's the small things that make life interesting. This is one of those small things.5/5*

Interesting flavor!
I wanted to try a recipe that called for grains of paradise and I honestly never heard of it before. I gave this a try and now I put it in so many of my dishes! It adds flavor that just regular pepper is missing. I store it in some mason jars and use a peppermill to grind it finely.

Grains of Paradise
My husband hates pepper so I put this in our pepper grinder instead, he loves it!

Delicious
After finishing the small bag in records time, since my whole family discovered they too love it, I had to get a bigger bag. We put this on everything from eggs, to salad topping, to pasta topping. You have got to try it!

I found copycat recipes for my favorite spice mixes and when it calls for pepper
I never thought that I would miss pepper when I was diagnosed with the allergy but a few weeks into my new allergen way of eating, I did! As with my other allergens, I have looked for a replacement. I found a blog on this "alligator pepper." I now carry a shaker bottle in my purse when I go out to eat and want to add "pepper" to my special request orders or a baked potato, etc, as well as using it in all my baking and cooking at home. This product may seem more expensive but when you consider the light weight of the seeds, you get a lot more than you would with other spices of similar weight. I grind them in my coffee grinder. My daughter has the same allergy and I shared the seeds with her.I found copycat recipes for my favorite spice mixes and when it calls for pepper, I use this instead. I am very happy with the product.

Paradise Seeds do not germinate
The Paradise Seeds are great for cooking but I had hoped to grow a plant or two. Unfortunately none of the seeds I planted would germinate, so I suspect they were all irradiated. I'll buy from another source next time.
