U.S. History by OpenStax (paperback version, B&W) (Volume 1&2)

I purchased this book just as an enjoyable refresher on American history. I loved everything about this book for the first 700 pages. Once the book hits the 20th Century the one-sided (far left) politics come out swinging. I consider myself and independent moderate, but the extent the author(s) went to in order to defend his obvious political leanings made the reading tasteless. It was very disappointing to start so strong and finish in such a ridiculous manner.

After high school in the 60s it was great to read our history again. I found this to be enjoyable and educational. There were many things in our history that I either forgot, didn’t learn or have been changed. I highly recommend reading this book.

I got this through the free textbook website. I read a lot of historical non-fiction and just was interested in an end-to-end overview. This book is pretty decent. I mean, it seems like the textbooks I paid $100+ for in college years ago. There are also little sections with links to a website that will redirect you to some primary and secondary sources related to the topic that's being discussed.

First I thought I would just read the free version online, but then I bought it. This is the book you have to have on your bookshelf. Totally worth buying the hardcover version.Very good written.Love the kindle version too .

In college, your textbooks are the most expensive thing you have to pay for outside of tuition. This book did take a little longer than I anticipated for it to arrive, but it arrived and is in great condition! I am happy to have the print version. My textbook was offered for free online, but it is so hard to zoom in and out to read. Definitely worth the $36 to have this textbook in print!

This kindle book is very large and includes all you need to know about American History. It is easy reading since it is probably a high school text. It gives you a complete survey and if you want to go back and study further, you can get an additional book on this topic.

Although this book is directed to students, it is highly detailed, well written, and easy to read and understand. The graphics are exceptional. This book is much better than my old college history book!

Half way through my class, I realized the book I received is not the book I ordered. The item description clearly says volume 1&2 and that it should be 1037 pages. The book I received in only volume 1 evidently and only has 18 of the 32 chapters!!! I’m furious!

A history book that describes Joseph Smith translating gold plates, as a fact, is clearly suspect. There is much evidence, overwhelming evidence, he was a fraud.This brings the rest of the material in this book into question.

Propaganda, not history . Worth what I paid for it, ie nothing . If you're an SJW you will love it. If not , don't bother .
