Awesome and value for Money
I was looking for a good external DVD/CD Drive for my Rapberry Pi solution.This was the most value for money drive that i could get.Works like a charm and also excellent and fast shipping by seller.

quality
This product does not reads all the CDs/DVD . reads only certain types of CD/DVD . Better go for LG/HP/Dell thank this one

Zero stars from me
This is a horrible product. This simply doesn't read half the CDs and DVDs. Please don't waste your money buying it rather spend a few bucks more and buy the HP one.

Pls dont buy this product. It is not working at all. At first i thought this was the problem due to my pc but even after trying on different devices it is not working. I am returning this product back and hope that none of you huy this product. Pls dont buy it

Received a used drive from 2008
Only buy this product if you need a external optical housing for a laptop SATA drive. The housing for the drive I received does appear to be brand new, however, the optical mechanism/actual optical drive WAS NOT NEW.The drive was sold as new --nowhere in the product description does it state that this item is used or refurbished, however, when I opened the housing to see the drive mechanism that was used, I found that the drive was not new, but rather, was manufactured in February 2008.

It works, but as previous reviews suggest it is more of a "refurbished" item than brand new
It works. My chief complaints are the fact that it requires two USB cables (which other models do not seem to) and that the disc drive itself is obviously used from an old laptop. In fact, an older optical drive may actually be a better part than a new one given the lack of quality control now and that they are making fewer and fewer disc drives now so this doesn't bother me so much. They could have at least made some effort to clean it up with some alcohol before putting it back into service. While the outer parts looked clean and new, it's apparent the "refurbished" disc drive itself clearly wasn't cleaned at all. It works as intended though and required nothing other than plugging it in to work on a Windows 10 laptop.

Doesn't play audio CD
Make sure you understand this device does not play back audio CD's. Only DVD's. I must have mis-understood and ordered it. The first unit I received didn't work at all so they shipped a replacement. That worked but they sent 2 of the same cables - both power cords. No data cable. They are both getting returned. It might be a nice device if you only want DVD use.

Worst purchase ever on Amazon
I couldn't send this unit back fast enough. Don't waste your money. It doesn't work. I think it was using alien (as in outer-space alien) technology - not anything of this earth.It read only about one of every 10 CD/DVDs I fed into it. Terrible experience. Pass this one up, don't get lured in by the low price.
