Pure Android simplicity on a desktop (6 Months and still love this!)
Pure Android simplicity on a desktop. I bought this to replace my aging Linux box on my workbench down in the garage; which I use to watch DIY repair videos, stream Pandora or stream the news while working on something.Based on several reviews, I was originally skeptical of this unit; but after watching a few Youtuber's explain that Jide pushes updates on a semi-regular cadence I knew what to expect. After all the updates completed and I set up the Google play store (super easy) It's been a pure joy to use...And that's after using it almost daily for six months! I'm thinking of getting another one for my office upstairs.

... for a couple of months now and am rather satisfied with its performance
I've owned my Jide Remix Mini for a couple of months now and am rather satisfied with its performance. While I'd gotten it primarily as a means to watch streaming content, I've found that it's pretty robust. I can play MMPORGs and standalone games. And because it's basically an Android smart phone without a screen, some of the games you can download can be played on the big screen. I've got mine hooked up to an LG 32" monitor with a Dell wireless keyboard and mouse and a pair of Logitech speakers. It's a really nice setup that should cost less than $100 (minus the monitor...)

Great little PC for streaming, email, etc.
Have been using my Remix Mini for the past couple months and it works great as a second computer in my office that I use primarily for streaming, email and other light tasks. Was a bit surprised to see that the Google Play store was removed from the device with an update a couple weeks ago, but side loading Google Play services and the store takes all of a minute, so it's not a big deal. However, be forewarned that, without side loading Google Play, it ships with the Amazon App Store, which is good, but doesn't have everything. Plus, without Google Play services, you're stuck using a browser for email instead of an app. That aside, this is great value for the money. I mean, for $60 I have a standalone PC that does what I need it to do. While it's not quite as slick as the Chromeboxes I've played with, it's 1/4 the price, which is awesome.

Revolutionary Device
This is a great android pc. I was skeptical that this could be pulled off. The os is really nice and it receives updates. Most of my google apps work. I was even able to get several non listed games to work. I can youtube, netflix, print wirelessly, and check email. The only finicky issue was getting my computer monitor to work. It needs a smart mode adjustable video resolution. Also clicking certain menus in games is a bit off, like instead of the center of the button you have to click near its edge. All in all if they keep updating and refining the os i could see this as a cheap viable desktop replacement but not just limited to that alone. It could be a smart tv media device, music, and gaming device. The potential here is amazing.

Remix...My Replacement for an Aging Mac Mini
I have been a Mac addict for years, but I recently switched to an Android-based tablet, and I love it. The applications are plentiful, and cloud storage makes owning a full desktop seemingly unnecessary. Enter the Remix. Paired with a wireless keyboard (the GMYLE 2.4G Wireless Keyboard with Built-In Multi-Touch Touchpad for Computers sold on Amazon) and my TV, this thing is awesome. I can use the online versions of Word, PowerPoint and Excel to do work, and use all the Google and Android tools for just wasting time. This is a great, inexpensive desktop, and it is much more usable than any Chrome-based laptop or desktop.Simplicity is best. I love this thing!

ROCK SOLID.
Oh man, this little thing is awesome! I have been eyeing them since it was announced and missed out being a kickstart supporter on it. Suffice to say, when it hit Amazon and actually came out, I was stoked. I was even more stoked when I saw the reviews for it on various outlets. It works very, very well. It's not the most amazing piece of hardware, but it is very solid and performs respectfully. It can play pretty much any modern Android game and run every single app - including Photoshop. Photoshop for some reason seems to be one of the most intensive apps on Android and even my Nexus 6p has had it crash. But it seems to truck right along on the Jide and I can't complain about that.16GB is pretty small, but you can extend it with a decent class10 SDHC card and it will run great. Just make sure you don't buy chinese knockoff SDHC's, because they will underform and not give you nearly as high read/write speeds as a premium class 10 will. The apps supported by this on Android continue to grow on a daily basis and it has been rock solid. I've left it on for WEEKS now and it has not crashed and turned off on it's own.

I was curious about this product and decided to buy one to review for the website I write for MyMac. To be honest as an Machead I really wasn't expecting too much and was pleasantly surprised by how well this little inexpensive PC works. There are things that I hope will get better. The File Manager is a single window at a time PITA, but considering iOS has nothing even remotely like it, I'll give it a pass. You can also use (at an extra cost) actual working versions of MS Office or to keep costs down download one of the many mobile versions of an office suite. Multi-tasking works well as does multiple windows open at the same time. Configuration can be a little tricky since you have both Google's settings and the Remix settings to deal with, but once you've done it, you shouldn't have to bother with them again.Remember that you'll need a monitor with an HDMI input (not real expensive to find these days), and either a bluetooth or USB keyboard and moused. You could probably get all three for under $100. Also not a bad idea to pick up a 32-64GB mini SD card since this only has 126GB of storage though you can also use standard USB2 connected drives too.
