If I Should Die: A Stunning YA Paranormal Romance Finale of True Love and Sacrifice in Paris (Die for Me, 3)

This was one of the best endings to a series I have read. The story picks up right where Until I Die left off. Vincent is gone, and Kate is torn up. However, things quickly go from sad to happy when we find out a piece of good...no, fantastic news. Ms. Plum's writing immediately sweeps the reader to Paris, both captivating and drawing you into the love story and constant action. Ultimately, the story leaves you breathless. There was absolutely nothing I would change about this book...it's that perfect. Kate steps up big time in this book. She fights till the very end to bring Vincent back to her, never giving up. Even though I always appreciated how strong of a character Kate was throughout this series, she is even stronger in this novel. I was rooting for her to figure everything out so that things could be put right. Vincent, what to say about Vincent? Maybe...utterly sexy, fangirl-inducing scream worthy? Just when I thought I couldn't love Vincent any more, he was even better in this novel. I was so depressed after reading the ending of Until I Die, but let's just say, things have a way of working themselves out in the end. Vincent's love for Kate is unbelievably real and something every girl dreams of. My heart broke for Jules in this book, especially after reading Die for Her. His love for Kate has always been so apparent to me that I couldn't believe how blind she was. However, her was the stronger person and and even better man in this book, and while his actions made me tear up, I loved him that much more. I would love to see a spin-off or some more novellas from his POV because not only would it be entertaining and hilarious, but a great addition to the series. The secondary characters were great in this novel as well. No one was left out, and every single character had their shining moments that make a permanent impression on the reader's memory. There are many twists (one of which I predicted since the last book ended), turns, and shocking deaths. You'll laugh, cry, and smile. This entire series has been utterly wonderful and completely original. Thank you Ms. Plum for creating such a magnificent world and characters that I will happily revisit time and time again :) 5+++++ stars

I have loved this series from the beginning. There was something so perfectly romantic about it that had me falling in love hard from the very first pages. It's not the most beautifully written novel, nor is the world the most inventive. But there is something about Kate and Vincent that doesn't need the pretty words in order to weave a romantic and amazing tale. Plum made me fall in love just by writing a fantastic love story. Vincent has just been lost; his body burned, but his soul still on Earth. Kate fears all is lost, that once again, she has lost someone she loves more than anyone else in the world. Her parents' death brought her Vincent, but she can't see what will come for her now. I don't want to give too many spoilers because this is a book you don't want to have spoiled. You want to read every page and want to know what is coming next. Experiencing the highs and lows of this novel was just an added bonus to the wonderful journey I went on. The other revenants play a major role in this novel. There are twists that I didn't see coming that made my gut twist and my heart clench up. I didn't want to stop reading. I needed to know what was coming next and how the story would end. If I Should Die is one of my favorite endings to a series. I'm sad to see it ending, but while I wish I could keep reading about Kate and Vincent, it ended the story perfectly. Loose ends were tied up, my heart is happy, and I'm still in love. The Revenants series is a must read for anyone who wants to be swept up in a timeless romance set in one of the most romantic cities in the world. Be prepared to fall in love from the beginning and only have that love grow as the series concludes.

Thankfully, If I Should Die picks up right where Until I Die left off, after that crazy cliffhanger. I felt like there was a continual stream of action and intrigue, and I felt like the story griped me right away and didn't want to let me go. I loved all the different directions Amy Plum took us on, and all the twists and turns. I loved how in control Kate had to be, and couldn't rely on Vincent to be in charge. He may have all the Revenant history, but this book further demonstrated Kate's leadership prowess and abilities. Their love story is challenged and tested until the end. The secondary characters are tested until the end. Everyone is tested until the end. And the ending was exciting and worth the wait. I appreciate the way the novel ended, giving satisfactory closure yet realism that not everything would be perfect for everyone. But it still left me in a place of hope and direction for the future. I loved it! And, honestly, I wouldn't mind a spin-off book or series following some of the other Revenants, because I loved these characters so much.

Amy Plum concluiu sua série de estreia com o mesmo esmero com que conduziu toda a história; não há pontas soltas, os personagens são muito bem trabalhos e a trama é conduzida com coesão até um clímax espetacular. Neste volume, acompanhamos Kate e seus amigos Revenants na luta contra os numas, tendo que superar a traição de uma pessoa próxima (não vou dizer quem, caso não tenha lido o segundo - apesar do resumo do terceiro revelar isso) e buscar o Campeão entre os bardias que será de fundamental importância na guerra contra os inimigos. Quando vi o tamanho do livro - mais de 400 páginas - perguntei-me como Amy Plum nos manteria cativos por tanto tempo. Todavia, ela apresenta uma sequência de fatos de tirar o fôlego, além de novos personagens, que nos fazem ficar mais presos ao livro que antes. E vale a pena. E, se assim como eu, você tem medo de últimos livros de trilogias (Siobhan Vivian e Jenny Han, nunca vou perdoá-las pelo que fizeram com a trilogia de Olho por Olho), fique tranquilo. Amy Plum arrasou!

Ho adorato questa saga, che all'inizio avevo preso in considerazione solo per interesse professionale, ma poi mi ha completamente rapita. Pur essendo anagraficamente fuori target per un paranormal da adolescenti, questo è diverso: i richiami culturali, la voce più matura dietro la caratterizzazione dei personaggi, l'inglese non scontato, lo rendono una lettura piacevole e avvincente. Il finale, a chi piacerà e a chi no; io sono contenta, ogni tanto, di arrivare all'untima pagina di un libro e dire "Sì!", perché è proprio come avevo sperato sin dalle prime pagine. Promosso su tutta la linea.

This book was worth the years wait! And the agony of the cliff-hanger at the end of `Until I Die.' Writing this review without spoilers maybe a bit of a challenge. The story is a roller coaster of emotions of pain, hope, love, loss, Joy and desperation. And full of action, there is no dull moment in this book and relationships and trust are formed! I love Kate; she is very brave, full of heart and gains strength from those she loves. We see the return of Charlotte and Charles and the rest of the characters and a few new ones who make this book what it is, which is a must read! It's sad that this is the end of the series of these books, though I am looking forward to reading more of Amy Plums books and she has a new one out `After the End' in 2014.

This was kind of a good sadness, the story is over but you can't help but feel happy. Definitely worth the read!

Musste mir das Buch damals auf englisch bestellen, weil die Deutsche Ausgabe noch nicht draussen war. Super verständlich und einfach ne tolle Story! Ich liebe die Bücherreihe :D <3
