HYDRO MASTER Washing Machine Shut Off Valve，1/2" Male Pipe Thread × 3/4" Outlet Hose Thread.

I got this quickly. It was half the price of alternatives and the quality was exceptional. I needed the top part to replace my existing configuration. The screws came off easily, the rubber gaskets were very nice and it fit great. The valve was smooth and effective. It saved me a $1,621 plumbing bill not including the drywall repair which they do not do.

The included, installed factory nipples come with very thin (flat) O rings. I used #11 Danco O rings instead with some plumber's grease. There is another review of this item with pictures you should read. If you are replacing an old laundry washing machine valve that is identical in form and dimensions to this Hydro Master valve it is a very easy repair. A 1/4 ratchet wrench with a set of 1/4" slotted driver bits will make it easier to work inside the laundry water supply line housing. Needed tools, supplies: 1) A stubby flat head screw driver or a 1/4 inch size ratchet wrench and driver tips that can fit inside the supply line housing 2) A clean rag, an old toothbrush to clean up the old nipples 3) #11 O rings 4) Plumber's Grease (apply around the base of the nipples where the the O rings seat.) Replacing the old valve (assuming same style, dimensions as the new HydroMaster valve.) 1) Turn off water supply 2) Loosen the two chrome plated flat head screws on the top of the old valve. The old valve should come right off of the supply line nipples. 3) Clean up the old nipples, there is no need to replace the old nipples if they are in good condition. (I suggest discarding the old O rings and using new Danco #11 O rings (available on Amazon) with a thin coating of plumber's grease (also available on Amazon). The Dano #11 O rings are perfectly round and will require some extra tightening of the chrome flat head screws to fully seat the nipples. 4) Loosen the chrome screws on the top of the new HydroMaster valve, remove the new nipples from the valve (if you will be cleaning up the old nipples and installing new O rings you won't need to use the new nipples. (Don't use the O rings that come with the new nipples as they are too thin, flat on one side and reviewers have stated that these thin O rings will not properly seat with either the old nipple or the new the nipple and will leak.) 5) With the new valve in the Off position (away from you ) turn on the water supply and check for leaks. 6) Connect the washing machine supply lines to the HydroMaster valve. 7) Set the washing machine to run a warm water wash that uses both the hot and cold water supply lines. 8) Slowly turn the HydroMaster valve part of the way On to gradually bleed any air out of the hot and cold water supply lines. (If you turn on the HydroMaster valve too quickly and there is air in the supply lines this is likely to trip the anti burst washing machine safety valve if you have the reinforced, braided hoses going to the washing machine. (To reset if tripped, turn off the HydroMaster valve and loosen the washing machine hose connection to relieve the pressure on the safety valve. Reconnect the washing machine lines and slowly turn the HydroMaster valve to the On position (towards you.) 9) Run a full wash cycle that tests use of the hot and cold water supply lines; check for leaks. (Don't forget to secure the washing machine drain hose if you moved the drain hose to make this repair (ask me how I know.)

I replaced my Watts 2T-M2 dual washing machine shutoff valve which has been leaking for some time which this valve. It took me approximately half hour to swap out the old valve by unscrew the two top screws on the old valve. The new valve fit perfectly and price is also reasonable. I highly recommended it.

The Hydro Master washer shutoff valve (item # 0502501) is a good replacement for 30 year old Oatey valves with the same dimensions. Inlet spacing is the same 2-3/8", and the new valve seated well on the old inlets. I used the O rings that came with the new valve and had no leaks. I also noticed dramatically improved water flow with the new Hydro Master valve.

Need Danco #11 o rings before you start the job as the ones included are substandard. Also, reuse the old screws if not using the new nipples as the new screws have a different thread. Otherwise the installation is quick and simple. Seems made well and half the cost of a home improvement store.

I’m not a Plummer and it took me less than 15 minutes to install this. I also ordered the Danco #11 rubber O rings because they are thicker and other reviews said they were better. Highly recommend!
