Exactly as I expected. I had one but it was destroyed in our Dec 20 earthquake. THis was to replace it. I love this bowl!

Best dishes out there!
Fiestaware is the best! Not only is it pretty, it is durable and versatile and made in the US. These large bowls are great for steaming broccoli in the microwave (I put a fiesta plate below it because the bowl gets hot, and on top as a lid), a serving bowl and as a cereal bowl for my big kid. It is so durable, it is hard to believe this is the first piece I've had to replace in 15 years! You can also use it in the oven to reheat a plate of food. I have accidentally clanked it against the farm sink more than one time expecting a crack, but nope. All good. When the bowl broke my son was like, oh no-not the BEST bowl in the house! And he was right, we can't live without it so I bought another. I mix and match the colors so that is never an issue. Highly recommend.

Very versatile piece
I bought 2 of these when the price dropped to $6.99 (!!!!!!!!). I already have a couple in other colors, and this size is, in my opinion, the most versatile piece in my Fiestaware collection. I use them mostly for large dinner salads for myself and my husband - they are perfect for this use. I also use them for crumb and egg bowls for breading fried chicken/fish - the wide, shallow shape is perfect. Also great for dipping toast into custard mix for French toast. I have baked in them - made a fantastic giant whoopie pie for a birthday cake, but the cakes were tough to get out because the bowls themselves are heavy. They make nice fruit bowls. Right now, I have one on the counter full of fresh eggs from my chickens. And of course, they are great serving pieces - whenever we have casual dinner guests, I get compliments on these bowls.I would, without a doubt, grab more of these when I see an odd price-drop - right now, I have 4, and honestly feel that it wouldn't be crazy to have 6 or 8 of them because I find them so useful.

Love Fiestaware
I have a lot of Fiesta ware and have had it for years. I use it everyday and have added pieces over the years. I appreciate the fact that it is American made and contains no lead. I have had the medium bowls for years, but lately my husband and I are empty nesters and are eating more things in bowls instead of plates and we wanted larger “ pasta” bowls. I never even considered buying anything but Fiesta. I have a mix of turquoise and sea foam. These bowls are just perfect for what we wanted. They are sturdy and I know will last for years. They came extremely well packaged. I highly recommend this American made dinner ware.

Nice bowl
When I first got this, it came broken in several pieces (though it was well-wrapped in plenty of bubble wrap) but Amazon gave me no trouble and replaced it with next day shipping (I had called them because the site wanted me to return the original, which was obviously pointless.) I got a replacement in great condition and it's a very nice bowl. It's pretty heavy - that may or may not be a good thing - I like it because between that and the relatively wide, flat base, I'm not worried about the cats knocking it over like they did to my last big bowl. I kind of thought this would be a little bigger/deeper than it is, and it wouldn't really make a good chip bowl like I hoped, but it would make a great serving bowl for other things.

Same size as the Fiesta 40 oz pet bowl!
I have a raised feeder that accommodates an 8 inch diameter bowl. It came with cheap stainless steel bowls that I don't like using because I mix my dog's food and need to microwave it. I bought ceramic bowls from petrageous brand that fit the feeder but they broke easily. So far I broke 4 of them! I felt like I didn't have a choice until I found these. Although the diameter says 8.25 I believe they are counting the rim of the bowl. It fits so perfect and I know it will last a lot longer than the cheap and porous ceramic that the other ones are made of. Btw, the Fiesta pet bowl has the same dimensions and capacity as this one quart at a much higher price.

Good for serving 2 people
Before I found the 2 Quart version of this bowl, I thought that this one would be perfect. It arrived and I was surprised at just how small the bowl is. It is perfect for serving a dinner for 2 people, but if you have 4 or 6 people at your table, you need the 2 Quart version. It doesn't have a lid so don't try serving delicate foods like broccoli. If you are out of serving dishes and this is all you have, gently pre-heat the bowl to 130 degrees and then serve the broccoli last so that you have some warmth to it before dinner begins. This was one of the first serving dishes I bought but its color and design matches perfectly with all of the other serving dishes I have bought. This one is small enough that it is easy to fit in the dishwasher.
