Works a charm - could do with some refinement
Unsure why people are having trouble with this. Sure, you need to enable CEC on your Xbox and ensure your TV supports it too, buts that’s a given surely? EDIT: you need to remember this remoteness line of sight to your Xbox. And if you’re using an HDMI switcher ensure it supports CEC. The one I use supports it on port 1 only. When I turned the remote on my Xbox even warned me to change the settings. I’ve tried it with an Xbox One S, Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X and each worked first time. My only gripes are as follows, I am being picky and they’re not enough to stop me using it but I hope the manufacturers read these and improve the remote.. - The buttons, especially the centre wheel, haptics could be better ie: it’s hard to feel which button yiure touching with feel alone - The buttons, again especially the wheel, require quite a hard press - Occasionally my button presses aren’t detected but I am unsure if it’s above mentioned hard press that is needed or my TV/Xbox misbehaving. - Because you have to press the buttons quite hard I’ve had the battery cover slide off due to the force - it’s not massive force you need, but after continual presses I think the cover worked loose.

Works out of the box, no additional accessories required
Brilliant remote. Works out of the box, no additional accessories required. Good build quality. Good range. Has all the functions needed to control the Xbox. Lights come on when you move or shake it so it’s easy to see the buttons in a dark environment when watching a movie. Volume/mute buttons don’t work apparently you need a Kinect connected to the TV for that so, I still need to use the TV remote to control the volume. Other than that it’s just perfect for controlling Amazon Prime, BBC iplayer, YouTube, Netflix, etc. very happy with it and would recommend.

User-friendly but not as responsive as I expected
Worked straight out the box and the build quality seems decent, but a couple of the directional inputs/buttons aren't as responsive as the rest of the buttons on the remote. Personally I would still use a controller but the remote is more user-friendly for the wife so it's been a worthwhile purchase.

Poor design
Remote feels initially to be of good quality. Line of sight issues or range issues described in other reviews don’t really seem to be an issue - point it at your Xbox and it works, it’s pretty straight forward. The issue I have lies with the buttons and the lack of responsiveness. The buttons require a very firm press before they work meaning more often than not the remote doesn’t respond on your first try and you have to repress very, very firmly which is usually successful. You may not have this issue if you have particularly muscular thumbs(?) This isn’t the end of the world and the remote is almost certainly an improvement over the standard Xbox controller (which loves to power itself off every 5 seconds) when watching movies etc. but poor design of the buttons lets this product down, and I’d recommend buying something else.

This is a good remote for Xbox
Some mixed reviews on this product. Mine works perfectly. I don’t have to point it at the Xbox for it to work, i can literally point it in the opposite direction and it still works. The quality feels very similar to what I believe Xbox would release themselves. Every button works and it is backlit, so i think it’s a great remote.

A SERIOUS REMOTE FOR YOUR XBOX S/X
This could quite possibly be the best XBOX remote yet. Having gone through the original official launch mini remote, the long PDP remote and the 8bitdo mini remote.. this has to be the most superior of them all. I disliked the rubber coating of the other ones and much prefer this hardened matte finish, which is similar to the 8bitdo remote. The previous remotes would wear out their coating or become sticky like PlayStation DualShock thumbsticks over time, whereas this material is far more durable and an excellent design choice. This slimmer and smaller PDP remote is easy to hold and very responsive over distance, something the 8bitdo one has issues with. I also like that the motion lights don’t stay on too long - a feature on the other remotes that often drains the battery quickly. This is not the case here and I feel that this is the definitive media remote for the console. My only gripe is that the back button placement doesn’t feel intuitive, but I’m sure with time, I’ll eventually get used to it. Other than that one minor issue, it’s absolute perfection. I really wish it was released earlier as that would have saved me wasting so much money on media remotes, especially with this being my fourth one. If you want the one solution for all your XBOX media needs, this is it and an absolute no brainer. You can’t go wrong with it and it’s officially licensed. It kind of reminds me of the Apple TV remote and that’s no bad thing. It’s definitely durable and spot-on reactive.

Does not work unless it’s pointed straight at the XBOX, poor design.
Wanted a remote for my XBOX Series X, so thought I’d buy this one. Please don’t bother, there is no back button, and unless you point the remote exactly inline with the XBOX it does not work. What an awful purchase, regrettable purchase. If I hadn’t thrown the box away I’d have returned it straight away!

very good, some people had confusion
extremely good, works right out of the box. some people have said that you sometimes have to press hard for the buttons to work but i dont think this is true as the remote is activated by motion action, the lights turn on and that’s when the buttons ‘work’
