I had an 8" WEN Jointer and it seemed to lack. Quite frankly, the WEN and the RIKON look just alike! In fact, I wouldn't doubt if they are not made in the same factory. However, it may be in my mind, but the RIKON simply does a much better job. All of a sudden, I enjoy using my Jointer! It puts a smooth edge on a board!

Although there are other respectable alternatives, I ultimately opted for this jointer. Rikon has an excellent reputation in bandsaws, so I gave them a chance. It was a very happy surprise. This tool is easy to set up (tables and fence) if you have experience. Leaves a clean job with few or no marks. The 8" capacity offers greater possibilities for saving on lumber. The warranty is the best in the market. I recently had to replace the fence and the customer service sent me another one immediately, without question and with great attention. Excellent tool and best service I can't ask for more.

So far pretty happy with it. Book says it comes with tables leveled, they are in fact not and was sniping the ends. And it took a bit to get there. After I got them there all I have run through it has been rough cut white oak. It does very well, I smell rubber at times which I’m assuming is the belt, I am not forcing it through or trying to run fast and all I have taken off is 1/32 at a time. Need to take time and see if the belt is maybe loose or what’s going on there. But overall very happy with it.

This is my first one that I have owned, and as a first time user, it was super simple to setup. Luckily the factory had both my plates flushed with each other and the knifes ever so slightly moved my straight edge. Fence is sturdy once you sench it down, and going from 90° to 45° is easy as loosening the bolt and pushing the fence down. I have ran 8' 2x4's through it and had no issues. I will be pushing 4x4's through it next, so we shall see how it goes.Would definitely recommend this product to newbies like me and vets and anyone in-between.

I've never had a jointer before and wasn't sure if I really needed one. When I got this and tried it out, I was immediately amazed and astonished at what a great job it did. I'm now wondering how I ever did work in my shop without one. I love this new piece of equipment. It's solid, well built and thoughtfull in it's design.

Long stock you will have an issue due to bed size however for the cost of this it is an amazing tool good clean cuts with very reasonable noise and good dust collection its primary function of flattening two sides is supreme especially on smaller project parts.You simply cant go wrong here for an 8' helical cutter head its a grand tool. Be mindful however its not technically a helical cutter and the cutters are only two sided.

Out of the box accurate. Did check it prior to use. Was impressed. A little light on the table top portion though other than that. Good little machine for what I use it for.
