Works well
Works well, does what it’s supposed to do. The noise it makes can be off putting for a stray but nothing crazy

Excellent and easy to use
Worked perfectly right out of the box. No setup required. I used it to validate the chip installed in my horse

Great
Holds a charge for a REALLY long time and I had no problem registering our cats with it. Useful to keep around if you're taking your chipped pet anywhere where their chip might need to be read in case whatever scanner is there isn't working.

Reads recent microchip formats, but not older ones, as expected. Documentation could be better.
This is a nice unit. It works fast and easy with our 4 younger cats, but can't read the older chip format on our 14 year old. I expected this. A unit that can read ALL microchips is available, costing 10x as much. I don't think I need that. The documentation isn't great. The listing tells you that you can download all the microchip numbers you read, as it keeps an internal listing of them, but not how to download, and it isn't obvious nor do they give you any clue. Here's how:You connect the device to your computer with a USB cable. Open a blank Notepad file. Then press the button on the device for 5 seconds, and it will transmit all the numbers in memory to that file, which you can then save.

USELESS - Beware, it does not read all chips!!
Well, this is USELESS! It reads nothing, and I went back to read the find print - it does not read all chips. What good it it?? This is dangerous for the safety and proper finding/returning of lost/found pets! I'm disgusted with this product and am out of my return window.

Fast reading!
I got this in case I ever come across a stray; I will scan them. I love that it scans really fast, and I already tried it on my own microchipped pets; the numbers show up accurately. I love that it also fits in my pocket, so it's super easy to carry around.Keep in mind, I used this on an older pet with a very old microchip brand from AVID. This new scanner does not scan older chips but works wonders with the newer ones. The way I found out is how my hospital has their own microchip universal scanner and they're huge. The big scanner was able to read the AVID microchips but when I tried it with mine, it wouldn't scan it. It's great overall but keep in mind that it may not scan older brand microchips.
