Review: While the Lego Movie had a broader appeal to adults ... - While the Lego Movie had a broader appeal to adults, Clutch Powers is a movie for kids that is less sinister and more enjoyable for even younger kids. Of course it's thoroughly enjoyable for adults who love(d) Legos, but it's not fair to compare this film to the new Movie. The three lessons of the movie are it's ok to ask for help, teamwork prevails and imagination saves the day. Clutch Powers takes place across several of the Lego realms and has something for all Lego lovers (but RIP Power Miners!).

Great for young kids

Silly but funny
Movies are a treat for my kids (boy-5 yrs & girl-6 yrs old). We have watched some real bombs and some really good ones. My kids really liked this movie and ask to watch it again. I rarely get a chance to sit through a whole movie so my feedback is based on what I saw and I thought is was funny, not offensive, not too much potty humor and strong good characters, both male and female.

IF YOU LIKE LEGO THIS IS GREAT
Loved this movie. I have twin five year old boys who loved it as well. Growing up on LEGO it was nice to see all the little inside jokes and references to other films for adults - but for my kids who constantly play with LEGO - it was equally entertaining. All they want to do is play Clutch Powers now when they're building with their bricks. I hope they come out with the toys to follow the film. The animation was also quite good, far superior to anything I've seen as a direct to video. Highly recommend.

gotta love the LEGO movies
As a LEGO builder for almost a quarter of a century, I still did not see the point of LEGO movies until the LEGO Movie came out and was so hugely popular. The wonderful humor in that movie and in-jokes for builders won me over completely. And that led to exploring other Lego movies such as Batman which I had missed along the way. This one, being the first Lego movie, was a must have, but I was not expecting much. To my surprise, I enjoyed it almost as much as the others. I have a lot of the knights and skeleton kits from the 90's and of course I had to order the troll and the evil wizard immediately. I only wish there were more kits from this movie. I would like to have a Clutch Powers figure and all the rest of them. And of course, I would like to see another Clutch Powers adventure. I like the emphasis on creativity for young builders, although I am strictly an instructions-only builder myself. I think these kits are wonderful and have a grandson who is almost grown but is a fellow builder still, and much more creative than me.

Best movie for my 4 year old Lego fan
A remarkably good film aimmed at the 8 and younger crowd. Clever. Funny. The story kinda rambles around, but I didn't mind. There are a few scary seens (scary for my 4 year old), and some cartoonish violence, but nothing objectionable in my opinion. Not quite "Cars" but better than most films for young kids. One might complain that it's a 90 minute commercial for legos, but we love legos, so we didn't care.

Good family fun for all!
Lego has really done well branching out in the last few years. Their video games and books have all been hits with my family. I decided to order Clutch Powers for them because of the quality of the previous Lego products we have purchased in the past. I, and my kids, are glad I did! The movie follows clutch and his friends as they travel through space and time to defeat the evil wizard Mallock the Malign! The world they inhabit is, of course, built out of Lego and they experience many of the different Lego themes such as the space, city, and castle themes! It's a lot like other children's movies in that there is a lesson to be learned (in this case teamwork) while being entertained. The computer animation is high quality, the acting is good but cheesy, and the story (while it isn't the world's greatest) is easy to follow. My kids (4 year old boy and a 5 year old girl) have watched this movie at least 20 times! They sing the theme song and they act out the parts. They totally love this movie! In fact, my 4 year old cried when we went to Legoland and he thought that he was gonna miss the Clutch Powers 4D movie they play there! The only thing that disappointed my kids was the fact that there aren't any minifigures available of the lead characters in the movie! I recommend this for anybody with young children whether they are already Lego fans or not. Even some older fans of Lego will probably get a kick out of it!

Great for kids!
My boy is 5 and is usually very difficult when it comes to getting him to try new things. He usually only watches Curious George and nothing else. He does love assembling legos, so when this show came on, he was VERY excited. The entire family say done and enjoyed this movie from start to finish. The store and adventure was captivating and the animation and voice overs were great. I'd definitely recommend this movie.

This is the first Lego movie, and what a fantastic movie it is. Adults may get the Indiana Jones type references. I love the two songs at the beginning and end of the films- great rhythm (please released these!) The animation of the Lego world is brilliant with care taken not to alter the lego mini figures too much so its believable and the clever use of the Lego worlds that children may recognise and the important lesson of team work. I hope they make sequels of this movie as their mission was clearly not finished. I also recommend the Lego Star Wars movies for excellent animation and storytelling. This movie appeals to many ages, from 5 years old to 55 years old. there is a bit of comedy as Lego building occurs and the different methods in which to do it.

I bought this for my 5 year old son who is increasingly becoming a LEGO fanatic. He was so excited watching this movie, and has now watched it over 15x! The premise of the movie is already outlined on this page. What both he and I really enjoyed was LEGO's consistent humour (as found in the video games) and the use of many of the different LEGO sets. From LEGO City, Power Miners and Castle, you have to watch closely as many of the characters and sets are used. The story is actually very well written and not just something that feels like it was thrown together. The main character, Clutch Powers, is a like a super agent who is glorified from all those in the LEGO world. My son keeps asking why there are no LEGO Clutch Powers sets to purchase, but my guess is that this is only a matter of time. Good job LEGO!
