This grate works great! Fits the drain I have perfectly. Water drains just like it should. Not a bad price either!

Catch basin filter
This filter catches all the leaves so that they do not clog my drain system. It works well, fits perfectly, and is easy to remove to clean it.

Great grate but $$$
Expensive but exact replacement for a 12 inch drain box grate that got crushed during construction. It is a precision molded HDPE box cover - great quality but sheesh, it is just plastic after all, does it need to cost so much?

Does what it is made to do
Why did you pick this product vs others?: Does what it should do. I don't even notice it in my yard and have stepped on it several times without it breaking. Price was good.

Having The Right Parts Makes A Difference
I had a problem with my existing water drain basins. Over the years they sank lower into the ground. To fix it the right way I would have to dig them back up, add gravel to get it even with the ground. That's a big and messy project when I have 4 drain basins. Also it would make a mess of my lawn. What I decided to do was add more grates to bring them higher in the ground, and screw them together so they would not move around. I fixed 2 drains in about 15 minutes, and they work great. Now I am ordering 3 more to fix the last two.

Filters "gunk" but backs up easily and not worth the price point.
They aren't bad filters and definitely catch stuff but they do clog up regularly. I often have to remove my grates and pull the filter out often after a heavy rain to get the water to drain. They are easy to install and work reasonably well but not great. I don't think they're worth the price point though.

Not much else to say, a nice solid catch-basin and meets the application I am using it for perfectly

An eavestrough extends underground from house to edge of property where it creates a hole and accumulates water. I purchased the grate cover to sit on top of the hole. I added 2 large nails into the holes already on the grate to secure it into the surrounding earth. Mowing the lawn is not a problem.

Polypropylene(PP) I decided to equip my existing two Grates with the steel grates for reliability reasons. Over the life of my original two catch basins I have replaced both with Polypropylene(PP) grates witch were showing signs of ware. The steel unit are living up to my expectations.
