Perfect for Fine Finishing and Polishing This Red Devil 0000 Steel Wool has been a great addition to my workshop supplies. The ultra-fine grade is just right for delicate jobs where sandpaper would be too harsh. I’ve used it to smooth out between coats of varnish on furniture, to polish metal fixtures, and even to gently remove residue on glass without leaving scratches. The 8-pack format is convenient because I can keep a few pads in different toolboxes around the house and garage. Each pad holds up well for multiple uses, and they don’t fall apart quickly like some cheaper brands I’ve tried before. The texture is consistent across all the pads, so I always know what kind of finish I’ll get. One thing to keep in mind is that because it’s such a fine grade, it’s best suited for finishing, cleaning, and polishing—not for heavy-duty paint removal or coarse sanding. If you need something more aggressive, you’ll want a coarser grade. Bottom line: A reliable, long-lasting, and versatile pack of steel wool for detailed polishing and finishing jobs. Uniform texture, conforms to curves, and holds together while polishing. I use it to degloss between polyurethane coats, remove light rust from chrome with a little oil, and clean glass without scratching. Pads tear to size and each lasts multiple tasks. Minor shedding and it will rust if stored damp, so dry and bag after use. Strong value for a 16-pack and an easy workshop staple.

Using this for wet processing an oil finished wood, works great.

Had some rust and scrapes on my chrome pipes rub this on them and they were gone. Thickness is pretty good. They polished them pretty well and it was easy to use for the most part. They are durable and for the thickness you get for the price I am impressed.
