Squid Industries Squiddy-B Plastic Balisong Trainer

My son got the white one for Christmas and it was his favorite present. Unfortunately it was lost while moving. He’s 13 and has chemo every month so he’s not allowed to do normal things like go outside and longboard or anything he used to do so these trainers are a good distraction. They are also lightweight and less painful when they hit knuckles than the metal ones. I don’t have to cringe when he drops it on the floor like the heavy metal ones. He watches videos of tricks and he dropped the previous one a few times and it never loosened or broke. This is a gift for his birthday so he hasn’t used it yet but I did open this one and the best feature from my perspective is it’s quiet and doesn’t make any noise! It appears just as sturdy as I was expecting after seeing the white one. Both times they included a sticker of their logo that’s worthy of going on his laptop so that’s a nice touch. The price is not cheap but it’s not made in China. There are no other pvc trainers I could find so you are also getting something nobody else is selling. I doubt my son will be doing tricks with a real metal knife anytime soon so this is perfect. And now it’s quiet too!

I took a chance and bought a squid industry fidget a few months ago just to try it out. I have used my own fair share of Bali song fidgets and this product takes the very top. It’s impressively light weight to where doing several tricks back to back doesn’t make your hands tired. The material is comfortable and rigid, no issues of it falling from your hands whatsoever. Price wise it may be on the upper end, but if you are a passionate practicer of butterfly “fidgets” it’s worth it. Easy to learn tricks and get into the higher level maneuvers without damaging yourself or the product.

I picked up balisong trainers around senior year of high school, as a fidgeting option. Started with pens, broke those, moved on to some unsharpened metal and similar plastic trainers, but they always broke. Bought one of these August '21 and I've been using it constantly since. No drop, throw, or fumble has chipped the handles or blade, it still spins fluidly and without tough or loose spots. It's It's light, it's slick, it's lasted 3 years, buy it!!

great option for someone just getting into balisong flipping. it doesnt hurt, its durable, and the weight feels way better than some of the metal ones on this app. its a little pricey still, but at the very least you will be getting good quality out of it.

If you’re trying to get into balisongs this is a great way to get started and practicing without getting hurt. I decided to go with the squiddy b because of the silence mod and the wheight, if you don’t know the difference between all the squiddys there are a lot of videos on YouTube explaining the differences between the ones. Overall I would 100 recomend this one to anyone with sweaty or greasy hands as it grips very well and is quiet in case you don’t want to distrub anyone in your house if your conscience about noise. Only thing is if your hands are dry or clean it will tend to slip when doing tricks but it isisnt a deal breaker otherwise u would have gotten the og squiddy. Overall 10/10

Was a little nervous paying $60 for a plastic knife but I wanted a quality trainer I can carry around in my pockets. This is it! Amazing quality sounds soooo good I haven’t had to do blue Loctite yet. Very sturdy and just feels good in the hands. Flips very well a little light but once you get used to it, it feels so balanced. So if you’re thinking about this between one of the $15 trainers out there spend the extra money it’s so worth it.

I think this is a perfect trainer to beginner/intermediate flippers. Balanced really well and had good weight even though it’s not metal. The only thing I will say is that the rubber band broke on day 3, but that’s of no fault of manufacturer.

i'm not a fan. i can't knock the quality. its a good quality product. its solid, flips well, and its got decent weight to it (especially for being plastic) but it just doesnt give me that satisfying feeling that i need. i would keep it if it weren't expensive, because it IS quiet, but $60 just doesnt feel worth it, when i compare it to other better ones. check out my video review.
