Decent bed. I have space now!
Bed arrived after about 4 weeks. It was very easy to assemble. Most of the load is borne by screws which I find troubling.Despite this it does seem to be quite sturdy.I am an adult, 30yr old woman. I have a very small bachelor suite. This bed replaced a large log bed that took up most of the room in my small one room apartment. The new bed does a fantastic job of making the most of a small space.I am 5ft5 and the bottom of the bunk is at my forehead when I'm standing beside it. I can sit at my desk underneath it and still have lots of room above my head.Cons:The railing is not very tall. My mattress is a full sized mattress with a 4" gel memory foam addition on top of it. Because of this the railing only serves to keep my mattress in place as it doesn't reach above the mattress sides. So I have had to line the bunk with pillows along the walls. It rocks. It rocks so much. When I climb the ladder, despite the rocking, it's feet stay on the floor. I am going to find a way to brace it to the wall to help illeviate the shaking. The ladder. I hate the ladder. One side of it is also the right headboard leg of the bed so I literally have to sit on my pillow to get out of bed. And the ladder is flush to the side which makes it a greater challenge since I am so close to the ceiling because of the added height from the mattress. What I'm going to do about these issues:There isn't much I can do about only being held up by screws but pray. For the rocking, I'm going to try to bracket the bed to the wall.I will probably use a different ladder.I am also going to put plywood underneath the mattress and opt for a 6" mattress instead of a 12".I'm going to install plug and play 4ft LED shop lights underneath the bed. As well as maybe a motion sensor bar light for the ladder.I've slept on it for two nights now. Other than the problem of getting the dog on and off, it's a great bed. I have a lot more space now. I do feel safe sleeping on it once I got used to the rocking.I will update this if something happens, because of the weight difference between an adult instead of a child I will definitely update this if I fall through it.I'm pretty sure it's rated to 250lbs, I bring 140 with the added weight of my dog. Not including the weight of the mattress.

Cheap, extremely hard to assemble
I do not recommend anyone purchase this item. It is poorly designed and made with the cheapest materials possible. Amazon actually refunded me for the purchase, and I ended up throwing it out. Below is a list of reasons why you should not buy this item.1) The material is extremely flimsy. It's extremely thin tubing of some alloy. It came bent and dented right out of the box. If you grip the posts hard enough, you will be able to dent it. Looking at the parts wrong will cause them to deform.2) The holes for putting this together are stamped out. The excess cut metal to make these holes is left in the tube and rattles around. I attempted to remove most of the metal, but I wasn't able to get all of it.3) The design incorporates angled holes - meaning you have to drive these screws and bolts at a weird angle not perpendicular to the tubing. This is extremely challenging and borderline impossible if you're just using the hex key it comes with. You're also not able to tighten these bolts enough as the head of screw comes in at an angle and does not make full contact with the face of the tubing (because you're driving the screw at an angle). This is just poor design. If you still want to buy this bed, I suggest you re-drill all the holes from the start.4) Mine came with misaligned holes! To make sure I wasn't losing my mind, I lined up the tubes that were supposed to fit and measured it out. Without re-drilling, it would have been impossible for me to assemble this, but I bought this because I didn't want to make one my own. Weirdly enough, there were also extra holes in the material that were not in the instructions. It felt like a practical joke.5) The slats are held in place with these pin-like plastic fasteners. It's hard to assemble and dissemble them because they're put in by force like pins.6) The ladder is uncomfortable to climb on because the tubing is so thin, it's like stepping on a sharp rock. You can even see one of the other reviewers put pool noodles on the ladder to make it more comfortable.Overall, I don't know why anyone would purchase this. At 300$, I thought I was going to get a sturdy metal loft bed. I was comparing it to the Ikea wooden loft bed (also 300$) which I had previously owned. I thought this would be an upgrade. They cheaped out in every possible way - no threaded connections, thin gauge material, stamped angled holes, no care in packaging as it came dented and twisted.Don't make the mistake I did by buying this bed.

Definitely a two person job
The quality of this bed is dependent on whether or not the holes to screw in all the hex fittings are drilled. Mine has some that were angled and made it extremely difficult to put together. I read all the reviews and research before I made this purchase so I was aware of the issues. I will definitely be securing this bed to the wall. I have re-tightened the screws as well. I highly recommend that, perhaps regularly.
