STANLEY Stud Sensor S160

Few to choose from out there as I am not a professional DIY person did not want an expense device not going to use much. Saw it had mixed reviews but found it to be very accurate for studs and wiring allowing me to mark the areas with blue tape for stud and red for wiring. So I knew it was safe to drill in the right places, highly recommend does the job at a great price.

No instructions included, seems quite spotty on identifying AC (the reason I bought a "simple" one).

This didn’t work at all in respect of identifying cables in walls. I returned it.

I knew roughly where the studs were. But a bit hit and miss through plaster. But with a bit of patience and perseverance it works but don't expect miracles for a relatively cheap product

Doesn’t work. Inconsistent. Holding up against a known live wire it beeps 40% the time. Stud thing seems to work. Don’t trust it with my life to find a live wire

Just had some new stud walls fitted and room fully decorated. I had to fit some wall equipments and so I thought I would buy one of these to help me accurately pin point the studs although I noted roughly where they were placed in the build. I tried everything to get this S160 tool to tell me where the studs are, well it was completely useless. I am taking it back for a refund. Very disappointed! I don't believe this tool was tested for its performance against the sales pitch.

Completely useless product. - you would have more success locating the studs by drilling dozens of holes until you find one. Which is kind of what this product is supposed to do! Finding electric cables is completely hit or miss, but due to the inaccuracy of the product, its likely to be the former not the latter. - Sadly, Its going back for a refund.......

Helt oanvändbar om man har kakel eller tunt skikt med puts mellan den elledning man vill detektera och apparaten. 38 mm detektionsdjup gäller gips. Detta borde framgått av produktbeskrivningen, inte bara av bruksanvisningen.

The true finder tech™ honestly felt like a round about way of telling the maximum flux emmited by the wires in the wall piping. That's all well and good but why did I have to scrape this tool across the wall with TrueFinder™ tech ? Gives a good estimate of where the wires might be but not really. Check what's the latest at the moment at take it. This piece and version honestly felt like a joke
