This is the brand you want to buy for projects! I decided last minute to make an octopus on a pirate hat and only had a few days to create it. These plaster strips are perfect! It was easy to dip in the water affix to the armature and smooth down into place. The thickness was perfect, the plaster easily mixed in, and the frame never showed through. It dried quickly and was durable and strong. I suggest buying more than you think you will use. I had to buy a different brand from the local craft store to finish my project and it was quite inferior to this brand. The first picture is only this brand. You can see how smooth it is. The second the webbing is the inferior brand and you can tell. This is the brand you want!

I am using this for some model train projects where I need to build up landscape over foam board, cardboard and bracing. It does work really well. It is a bit dusty so you need a good working space so you don't get it everywhere. It is plaster so it is to be expected. I cut it into strips, dip it in water and lay it out. Once you get it in place it smooths out really well. The more you work it the smoother it gets and it starts to fill in all the little holes in the material. At first I thought it did not have enough plaster on it but as you work it with your fingers, it goes down thin and smooth. I have been really happy with it and will be buying again as needed. Why did you pick this product vs others?: I’ve used various brands of plaster cloth for diorama and model making. This is the best so far. It’s thicker than other brands making it far easier to apply. It doesn’t fold over on itself very often but when it does it can be unfolded with no problems. The thinner cloths won’t unfold and are unusable; a waste of time, effort and money. Tho’ I wish these were available in larger packs, I’ll continue to only buy these.
