Great learning toy
We love this! My daughter plays with this often. It’s great for learning how to count and for working on fine motor skills. It doubles as a learning toy and regular kitchen play toy. Great addition to my daughter’s kitchen.

Not what I expect but we’re pleased
Really disappointed in the quality. I justify paying their prices because their quality is usual awesome and I know they will last through all of my children playing with them. This set I don’t think will last very long through one child. Unfortunately he saw the package and we opened it together and he was too excited and started counting the items. There were only two peaches in the can so I’m waiting for a replacement. I also ordered a pot and pan set that were not the quality I expect from learning resources but I paid significantly less for that so I’m not too upset about it. The price for these counting cans even marked down was pretty high. But with the 100+ other food items we have by then I was willing to pay the high price especially because the counting aspect of it and they’re all plant food unlike the alphabet set that has animal products. But it is not the same quality the other food items are. The cans are not very sturdy so I’m not sure how long they’ll last either. This might would be better for an older age limit and while supervised to insure the products don’t get ruined. Update: after several months of regular pay they have held up just fine. We pull them out for educational play, sorting, matching and counting. The pieces have withstood the occasional toddler gnawing and the cans are sturdy enough to survive toddlers pressing the lids back on. We have half a dozen learning resources sets with well over 200+ pieces and even though we initially were skeptical of this set we are very pleased with their products. They can be pricey but they regularly mark down sets either way they are well worth it.

These are awesome so if you're on the fence, get them!
My toddler LOVES playing with these. She enjoys opening and closing the cans which are surprisingly sturdy for what I guess is a cardboard. The lids are plastic and so is the food inside, but it's not a flimsy plastic. I was hesitant to get any plastic food toys because my 18 month old can destroy any and everything but these have managed to hold up rather nicely despite her trying to bite the crap out of them when she pretend eats them lol. The colors are bright, vibrant, and fun. The food is a good size and perfect for toddler hands. As my daughter gets older these will definitely help her to count, and do so in a fun way. Very happy with the purchase and would absolutely recommend.

Only 8 beans
Bought this a while ago as a present. It stayed in the box past the return window because, well, it was a present I bought well in advance. When opened, the 9 can, which is supposed to have 9 beans, had eight. Can't do anything because it's too late. This sort of thing happens, I would just advise you to check right away that each can has the right amount. That's the only reason I'm not giving five stars, and I do recognize, this stuff happens. That aside, this is a really terrific product. The cans are fun themselves just to stack. Then there's the fun of opening them, sorting, counting, etc. What I like the most is, for a very reasonable price, we got a bunch of play food, and not the same ol' stuff. My son loves using the food to "cook," and this stuff works great b/c of the size (not too big, not to small).

I absolutely love Learning Resources!
I absolutely love Learning Resources! Their toys are exceptionally well-made with sturdy, durable materials. What sets them apart is how their realistic pieces feel - they're soft yet solid, maintaining their shape when squeezed unlike most other play toys that cave in. The quality is outstanding.

Great Learning Toy
Right now I am really focused on finding fun ways to help my son (34 months) really learn his numbers, along with how to count. He often says he wants to count things and usually goes, "1, 2, 3, 5, 10." Sometimes other numbers get jumbled in, and often he mixes up 3's and 5's, and 6's and 9's. We paid just under $30 for the counting cans, and while I agree that it is a little pricey, I cannot say anything bad about the toy itself. The cans are about the size of a standard soup can, the lids are easily removed, but stay on well too, the items inside are visually appealing and easily identifiable to my child, and the colors are vibrant. He was immediately interested in the toy and eager to count the objects inside each can. We have only had this toy a short time, but it is definitely a hit with my son, and it is already encouraging him to want to count even more. Additionally, given the vibrant colors, this would probably be good for teaching colors as well. Definitely a great toy that actually teaches.

Very good fun for a two year old who loves opening cans and discovering cute items inside. A nice addition to my grandson's pretend kitchen.

On the expensive side but brilliant fun, my toddler adores them. If you’re unsure I’d definitely say purchase them. There’s so many ways to learn with these.
