Are you looking for the anti-itch cream an it's pinkish ? That's called Calamine Lotion this is a whole different product ! Calmoseptin is not an itch cream .

Is this supposed to smell like rotten wood? What is this supposed to smell like?

I’ve never smelled rotten wood, but it does have a medicine-y smell to me.

Is this a transparent cream or does it have a white base?

It actually has a pink tint to it. So i would say it's more of a white base. It's thicker then most diaper rash cream as well.
