What kind of batteries does the booster take?

If your handy with simple electronics you can get like a charger. I used the one for my old braun electric shaver. Just cut off the end that attaches to the shaver. Buy some alligator clamps like at lowes and attach the positive and negative cables to the clamps. Then just clamps negative to where the negative side of the battery would go.then same for positive. Or unscrews the botton and attach each lead to the motor. I did it and works fine. Kept using batteries for my nephew. Recently i took built in motor for an air mattress air pump. I had to modify everything but pretty fun. It kinda overpowered now launching car had to have a tunner on the exit because they catch air but the tunnel took care of that.

Is this powerful enough to launch it through the infinity loop?

No. It’s great to regain speed with a long stretch of track but it will not work with the infinity loop (we have one )

How do you select either of the two speeds mentioned in the description?

Hi Jon, Unfortunately, there is only on or off. The listing description is not entirely accurate. It is a different version of the booster that has two speeds. I have submitted for it to be changed but since many sellers contribute to the listing description it is not guaranteed to be corrected. It does offer a high-speed boost, I have seen some comments offering it is not a fast boost - I think in that scenario it is the width of the car that is not allowing it to be "boosted" enough. My grandson and I use these boosters quite a bit and find they give a car enough of a boost to make a full loop, some even two. I would also recommend using quality batteries. Thanks!
