Agree with the others; this "body pillow" is NOT FIRM at all--and provides very little support if you place an arm or leg over it.

When sleeping on your side, and using this, can you feel your knees hitting each other? Is there enough cushion between knees? Small, skinny legs..

If you stuck it between your legs it will fill very thin but may work for what you are describing. I bought this as a pillow for my 6'3" son to use. It has no more support than a blanket tossed in a pillow case. We hate it. To to thin.

Is it machine wash and dry

It is spot clean only. No machine washer or dryer. 100% polyester would lump up in machines even with a ball or shoe. There is a pillow case for it that I bought and am totally happy with both.
