Debating between yeti nano and original yeti, which one is for long term use? i am new in this, not sure if will need to use it for advanced later. tq

I used the original yeti but wanted something smaller and purchased the nano. Hated it for what I needed it for. The nano requires some basic software installation. I had an orange blinking light and had to find directions on YOUTUBE on how to deal with it, then still had compatibility issues with the voicetracking software I use. I never had any of these set up issues with the original yeti. You can plug it in and go. I was soooo disappointed. I would up buying another small mic, which worked but didn't sound as great as my yeti. GET THE ORIGINAL!

can it be used on a chromebook without setup?

Yes. I believe it would...just tested it. I have an older Samsung Chromebook. Just plugged the Nano into the USB port and then went to the settings menu and selected the audio dropdown menu that is located near the volume/audio bar...the Yeti was listed there as the default input device. No setup. I do not have any programs that I could use to record with on my Chromebook so that is far as I took my little test. Good luck!

How far can be my mouth from this microphone, Yeti Nano, that my voice could still be picked up well? What is the best distance?

Its not really how far, its more what angle. You could be 2 meters awày and still be picked up but be in a 70 degree angle and now be picked up at all. Though i would say that its range is pretty good

Would you need two microphones with a multi-person podcast or would one suffice?

One would easily do. Personally, I enjoy the cardioid mode a little more, so if you're willing to splurge, go for two, but one would handle a podcast with ease, depending on positioning.
