This Type of Mental Problem Solving > Any other puzzle
I really don't care for Sudoku's. I believe Sudoku's are s a good and healthy thing to do for one's self (if they need a bit of problem solving engineering in their lives), see the fun and benefit, but really sitting down and being mentally active by problem solving in a sedentary position for so long makes me not too excited.Video games are pretty fun as one can be super active with them but can be a bit cumbersome when one is trying to talk to colleagues/friends about the games when these people really don't care. They might 'care' but really some people just don't like video games (or the ones that I play), and they just politely nod. This book has neither of these two issues. It is fun, active, easy to bring up some 'problems' when you are in the break room with your coworkers, talking with students in your classes, or just taking 5-10 mins to solve a problem with your loved ones. Heck if I had kids or tiny second cousins/nieces/nephews around I'd throw these questions at them. It's fun.I feel like this is a book to making the beginning of a morning math class in a high school/ middle school/ possibly even elementary math class fun and awake.

fun variety of problems
I often refer to the author's youtube channel for a mix of fun geometry problems for myself and my students. I bought the book wanting a collection of problems easily accessible without my computer. The problems are a bit different from the ones I've come across on the channel but still keep the mind thinking.

Great set of puzzle books
I bought 1, 2 and 3. Great set of puzzle books, nice choice of puzzles and very good explanations of solutions. Great for teaching kids or just recreational fun.

Endless source of joy
This little book is a treasure of old and new problems, presented in a way that allows me to peruse it on the Tube, and spend some time at home squeezing my brain cells and working out the math rigorously. My favourite is the game theory section, although I will get back to the probability part which I found harder than the rest, but then probability has never been my cuppa.

A Lot of Fun
On a recent family vacation to China, I worked through these puzzles with my wife, parents and in-laws. The level of difficulty was just right. The problems were challenging and it was a lot of fun trying to see who could get the right answer first. To get a sense of what the puzzles are like you should check out Presh's blog at Mind Your Decisions. But really for $5 this should be an impulse buy that will make your next spell of downtime infinitely more entertaining.
