out of 8 whetstones, this is my most used/favourite. the only reason im buying a second one is because i left my first one in canada. i have sharpened well over 1000+ items, ranging from small pocket knives, to swords. as long as you have a steady hand, this is a work horse that gets you a solid edge ready for a mirror finish. you will need a 6000-8000 grit to put the final touch on a blade, but this is by far my go to, to get it where you want to go. i have tried many other stones compared to this.. and this takes the cake hands down. keep it a secret.. because i dont want the price to go up! might order another as backup for the future..
