Problem solved!
When I bought my truck, it didn't have this retainer clip for the center console lid. I read many reviews that said it was cheaply built and didn't fit. However it was a couple bucks anyways, so I bought it. I've got to say, this thing works, and it works well. It holds the lid securely when you bring the center console up to use the seat. It was easy to install and after just about a year, hasn't cracked, came out, or broken in any way. If you need to fix this issue in your truck then this little clip will work perfectly fine.

Perfect....
My F150 latch broke several months ago and I had to bungee the top console storage every time I wanted to lift it for the lower storage or use it for a seat. Taking my truck in for service at a Ford dealer they stated they did not sell just the latch but I had to purchase the complete console top?? It would cost over $200.00 for the console and another $99.00 for install. This was not acceptable. I looked on the internet and found this replacement latch on Amazon for $6.00. I immediately purchased this and received in just a few day. It was very easy to install, works great and the color is a great match. Don't let the dealer rip you off, purchase this and save big bucks...

Perfect fit-easy install
Awesome. Snapped right in place. I had purchased one previously from another supplier that broke trying to install it. This one went right in. The only thing that would make it better was if there was a video. I found one elsewhere but so happy to have this fixed!

Worked perfect. There’s no instructions but place the spring the way you see in the picture, you have to seat the left side into the slot first then you need a long narrow screw driver or tool to push the right hand into place. You have to push just enough for it to flew and fall into place. Don’t push hard or you’ll probably break it like some of these other reviews claim to have done. You need some finesse you can just ram the thing into place. Happy to have my kid lock now wish I found this sooner…

Don't waste your money on it. It barely hooks. I broke it while trying to remove it. Get some magnets and super glue instead.
