The EKO KLOR Solar Ionizer dynamo can cut chlorine usage by up to 80% by combining the power of the sun with an underwater sacrificial anode. The system works when solar energy strikes the top mounted solar cells causing electricity to flow to the copper electrode, releasing ions into the pool water. These copper ions are very effective at killing algae and keeping your pool clean and pure. Simply drop EKO KLOR in your pool and it begins killing algae. You can swim while the unit is in the pool. Purchase an EKO KLOR unit this season and drastically reduce your chemical usage, while using safe ions to purify your pool water.

Need replacement parts
I gave it five stars because of its performance. It works great have had it for two yrs. definitely works. I would take a star or two away just because we can’t find the damn replacement copper tube. Love it. Would like to recommend it but really can’t if you can’t find replacement parts

I bought the EKO KlOR and like the idea that it works all day in the ...
As most here, I had a algae pool nighmare. I would get it cloudy blue by using excess shock treatments and a within 2 weeks it would be green again. The pool is probably 10K gal. Then it got to point after throwing 5 bags (lbs) of shock in it still didn't kill the algae. I chaulked that up to old bags and bought fresh Chlorox from Costco (new it would be fresher) and a box of shock (AquaChem-24 bags) and with a couple bottles of Concentrated (8.3%) Chlorox and a couple bags of shock it killed the algae. Now, I would also use a algaecide treatment, if i did it over again. I bought the EKO KlOR and like the idea that it works all day in the sun whether the pump is on or not (unlike in-line copper ionizers). Tossed the floaty EKO in to the cloudy white - blue pool and added a flocculant-clarifier Pool First Aid to drop everything to the bottom. See:amazon.com/Natural-Chemistry-03122-First-2-Liter/dp/B0002IXKQQ/ref=sr_1_3?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1404674350&sr=1-3I vacummed to waste after brushing pool down a couple of times initially and worked on cleaning the DE filter (powerwashed it) and adding fresh DE. I had to back flush a dozen times but now the pool is crystal clear. I added an algaecide copper sulphate: youtube.com/watch?v=piLXeSVbRWQ as 3 tablespoons in hot water and dissolved it. See: amazon.com/Roebic-Laboratories-Inc-2-Pound-Killer/dp/B000BQWKUQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1404674947&sr=8-2&keywords=roebic Its been over 3 weeks and the pool is pristine with no chlorine level detected and the pump has only been on 2+ hours a day after initial filter cleansing (12 + hours a day). I want to set it for 2 hours morning and 2 hours evening. The EKO needs cleaning alot and is really doing something if erosion of the anode is any indication. I am using a couple of 3" chlorine tabs in the floaty dispenser. I still have to check the phosphate levels as that is another way of controlling excessive algae growth see: amazon.com/Natural-Chemistry-05121-Cleaner-3-Liter/dp/B0002IXKS4/ref=sr_1_2?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1404674350&sr=1-2Get a good pool test kit like: amazon.com/Poolmaster-22260-Basic-5-Way-Test/dp/B00107039U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1404675387&sr=8-1&keywords=pool+test+kitTake a look at the BBB method of adjusting pool chemistry Bleach - Borax - Baking Soda, and Muriiatic acid, and maybe cyanuric acid (conditioner for chlorine).

A Toy Compared To The Floatron
Slow delivery almost two weeks. Packed well and arrived in good condition.Ok, I have a Floatron and the technology works. I was hoping at this reduced price I could get something at least similar to augment my aging Floatron. While the pictures are accurate they don't show scale because there is nothing to compare the size in the photo of this product. The Solaxx is about 1/2 the size of the Floatron and the annode is only about a tenth the weight of the Floatron. While it does produce some copper ions it is a toy compared to the real thing. This would probably be fine for a small vinyl pool or hot tub but to expect it to handle an in-ground pool is foolish. So, I will continue to use my aging Floatron and hope it keeps working (its three years old now). I have replaced the annode once in that time. Buy the Floatron its worth the difference.

WORKS WELL, BUT CONSUMABLE PARTS NOT AVAILABLE
This device has helped us tame algae. (What also helps is keeping acid pH low, around 7.2.) But my complaint is that the seller says this has a sacrificial anode, which is true; but when it is used up, they don't offer a replacement anode! (Who would buy a car that would die, never to run again, after the gas tank was empty?) DON'T BUY THIS UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO THROW IT AWAY EACH YEAR.
