I didn’t expect it to be as big as it is.. but for the price not complaining. I cut about 3 inches off the length of it. And it fit just fine and you can’t tell if it has been cut. Sure it will work fine for many other options. I used it in a 1988 Suzuki Samurai. I’m happy with it. And for the price I didn’t have a problem modifying it to fulfill my needs.

Bought to mount radio in a truck that previously didn't have one. Worked as designed and easy to install

I used this to mount a car stereo in one of the basement storage areas on my motorhome. Combined with a couple of weather-proof Yamaha speaker boxes, this created a neat outside entertainment center that works great. Now I just flip open the door on the motorhome's basement storage area, and there is a nice stereo, well protected in this box. This stereo mounting box is made of heavy plastic, and is sturdy and well-constructed. It has some removable tabs to accommodate old style car radios which have a volume knob on the left and tuning knob on the right (who has one of those anymore?), but those tabs are easily removable (I used a loose hacksaw blade to remove them). A nice product at a reasonable price.

Used this to mount modern stereo under dash of 1950 Ford truck. Had to use some imaginative bracing to hold up the back since the truck had none nearby and my new electric wipers stole some of the space available for new brackets. Ended up using the wiper brackets with custom-made new brackets to under dash kit for a perfect fit. Only problem, the metal sleeve for the radio did not accommodate the outer ring on the radio face removable plate when it put it in the under dash kit: the metal sleeve slipped in too far to accept the plastic tangs for the trim ring. I will just glue it on with rubber cement since it is only cosmetic. A good universal kit. Hole in back of sufficient size and open top allows fitment of radio with ease.
