Great hoof oil
This oil has been great for my horses hooves. It does have a strong smell (although not entirely unpleasant), so my horse and I both prefer to use it prior to turn out rather than stabling. His frogs have recovered from his chronic thrush, and the rest of his hooves are nicely moisturised. I don't find gloves are necessary as the brush applicator keeps it off my hands. If the smell is too strong for you and you're only concerned with the frogs then I'd suggest the paste instead.

Cob feet never been so good!
My 26 year old Cob has always suffered with horrible thrush. Also, her hooves grow at a tremendous rate but the horn quality is not great and although she has her feet trimmed and balanced every 5 weeks, they are usually breaking off and looking very raggedy by week 3. I started using Hoof Doctor about 6 weeks ago and it honestly has made a massive difference. At first I used it 3 times a week but now I am down to once a week. Thrush is completely gone for the first time ever! She is due her trim tomorrow and there is only the smallest amount of raggedy/breaking off hoof this time. Her soles and frogs look so much firmer and healthier and she is walking out better than she has in years. Very comfortable even on the gravelly parts of the road that previously she would have found sensitive. She used to be so foot sore at times I was always terrified she was getting a laminitis flare but I think now that it was just her thin soles and the chronic thrush that were the issue. I brush Hoof Doctor all over her soles, into the sides of the frog as deep as possible and then also paint the outside of the hoof up to the coronet band. I then pack the sulcuses with Red Horse artimud for extra anti-thrush protection. The only downside of Hoof Doctor is the smell, it is very pungent (although weirdly not entirely unpleasant!). Do wear gloves! Or risk your hands smelling of it forever more!!

Very bad Seedy Toe/White Line
Wife writing this review as her horse :-) My mare has very bad seedy toe. I believe this Hoof Doctor combind with remidial shoeing and high content Biotin, is finally helping us to get out of the woods. This is used on her seedy toe all over the hoof lathered around coronet band, all into the hoof. At the moment she has a hoof pad with shoe, but once the pad comes off it will be lathered into the sole and frog. As a preventative using it 3 times a week on other front hoof all around hoof coronet band, sole and frog. At last there is healthy hoof growth. From vets advising pts to now my mare not being lame and healthy hoof now 1/2 of the way down. I truly believe my fantastic farrier and a combination of what I have mentioned is what has helped her through.

It works!
It comes in a metal tin inc a brush on the lid. It stinks to high heaven a kind of tar and alcohol mix and the smell lingers on your skin for ages afterwards but boy is it worth it. My boys hooves have never looked so good. Easy to apply and the horn just sucks it up. I lather it on all over the frog, heel, up to the corony band and all over the outer wall and sole, pushing it deep into the sulcus grooves with the brush. He did have a thrush problem but not now. I guess I should wear gloves??

Wouldn't be without this
I live in the Lake district which means we have an awful lot of wet weather. Thankfully my horse does have good solid hooves as he has always been bare footed. However during the wet long winter he does suffer from a bit of thrush. This is brill to just clear up the first signs. I also love the smell
