I like that it's continuity test is always ready to go, unlike my multimeter which takes a (admittedly short) moment to get ready -- those moments are precious. I keep the cables connected and wrapped around the unit. Louder beep too (far more likely to hear behind stage at a concert in "save the show scenarios") Nice construction, like a solid DI box. Easy to understand switch and display (unlike others which require some sort of knowledge of intergalactic cyphers to interpret!). Something reassuring about the sexy dbx logo too. I would get again!

This tester quickly made me forget several other inexpensive hand-held testers I already had. The variety of connectors is outstanding for a tester at this price point. The individual indicator lights for each wire in a multi-wire cable is really useful. Plus it has a simple set of banana jacks for test leads to allow testing any cable which isn't already supported by dedicated connectors. I have a lot of different hobbies which all involve wiring or cables of some sort. I bought this so I could carry a single more professional quality tester instead of three different cheaper hand-held testers. It has been great in that role, but I did add a few things to make it work for every situation I needed. If you are like me, you may need to gender adapters to test some specific cables. In addition to the test probe leads, I also picked up two additional sets of test leads with alligator clips and micro-clips on the ends. Getting those items were an extra expense, but even with that expense, this tester is a bargain compared to many others costing two to ten times as much with mostly similar capabilities. The extra bits I added increased my satisfaction with this tester, but added more to carry, too. For me, how you pack up all of this to carry with you makes a big difference in your satisfaction, too. To make all of this easier to carry, I picked up a waterproof hard shell case super cheap from my local "harbor." The inside had customizable foam to protect and hold things in place. I put this cable tester, the three sets of test leads I wanted, as well as four different gender changer adapters, and two extra sets of batteries into the case. I pulled out some of the foam to make form-fitted spots for each item inside the case. A big waterproof label on the outside of the case was the last touch. This setup gives me an easy to carry "grab-and-go" test setup that is amazingly flexible in what it can do. I highly recommend doing the same with the one you buy! Five stars!

Best investment I’ve made in a long while. As it comes in two halfs you can use it on facility panels which Is a live saver

Very robust. Haven't tried every connection to test, but the ability to split for installed wiring is very good. Heavy, but that comes with something built out of metal. Is about size of a good thick book.

It's a genuine, DBX brand professional product, so it works exactly as it should and has the quality you'd expect from DBX. Only complaint is that the method of joining and separating the 2 parts is finicky, and a padded pouch or zip case would have been nice to protect it a bit in the toolbox.
