Missing parts! Wasted time trying to fly it.
Hello, This kite seemed very promising at first, until we took it out for a spin. What it did was spin alright... I am not a kite flying expert, but I live close to one of the windiest spots in the country, so we have lots of good wind, always coming from the south, about 6 days of the week. Anyway, my family and I took the kite out, and all it did was get up to about 30 feet, spin like crazy and nose dive into the ground. No matter what type of wind. I even went on youtube to learn how to fly a kite, only to see that I was doing everything correctly (it's been about 25 years since I flew a kite). So after a few weeks of frustration I came back to amazon to check and see about returns, when I noticed, that I am missing parts... How lame! What a waste of time, and now my 2 year old daughter hates kite flying. I should also mention that when the kite nosedives without a tail, it is extremely dangerous, and if you just happen to be standing in the spot which the main spar hits, you're in trouble. Imagine a solid pole falling from about 30 feet, catching speed from the wind, and slamming into the ground. I am missing the tail, and some sort of counterweight I think, not to mention paperwork of some kind (instructions?). From the pictures on here, it looks like there is a counter-weighted bar, which I don't have. I am giving this product one star because of the missing pieces, but am going to "fix" this kite myself. The pieces I am missing are easily made out of things lying around the house, so we will see how that goes.I will come back and do a video review of the kite, in action, without the missing pieces, and then with the pieces I made myself. The one star is mostly for the company. This kite had absolutely no instructions, and it was shoved into the bag like it had been used. I can't say for sure, as it was in good shape, but I was pissed. What kind of a kite company is this? How do you mess up a kite selling business? People are just looking to get outside, fly this thing, and give you 5 stars on Amazon, but yet, you pawn off used kites as new (at a new price), with missing pieces, so you can waste family time? Lame.

Nice Kite, but...
This is an attractive kite, easy to assemble and stow-away, but...it doesn't fly. It gains altitude quickly, turns, and crashes directly into the ground nose first! It was a gift for my daughter. She had the idea of attaching a sash from her Christmas dress as a tail, and voila! it flew. So why doesn't it come with a tail?

Great Kite, but it needs not 1 but 3 tails
Very well made. Holds up in high winds. Easy to fly once tails are attached. As others have suggested this kite is much too unstable to fly without tails. I tried it with no tails and it was erratic, unstable and nosed dived to the ground (crash) within seconds of launch. I tried one light tail, same crash. I tried 3 light tails, same crash. I got serious and tied 3 tails using some of my old dress ties attached to the loops on the kite with nylon ties. The kite needed more wind for lift but once up it was a great kite to fly. The tails added class as it swooped back and forth with the wind. This was fun, now I plan to get a trick kite by Prism. This kite goes to my grandson.I wonder if anyone managed to get this kite to fly without tails.

Old-school high-tech fun, great build quality
I am having a BLAST with this kite. It looks amazing, flys great, and you can tell once you get it that the product is high quality built by people that love kites.Back to looks. I love green so I bought the citrus. It looks better in person than on Amazon. Great shades of green to yellows. When I had it up everyone in my neighborhood was stopping and looking and enjoying the flight as well. Putting it together was easier than I thought it would be from the one page instructions. The reason is that Prism uses technical terms for the various kite parts. In practice it was very easy. There are rods along the side of the kite that snap together and then only one main across the wing rod that you need to put in. The winder is fantastic, easy to use, and very thin line that seems incredibly strong.A couple of last thoughts. Young kids should not use this, except perhaps when all the line is out and there is a steady wind. You CAN feel the pull on this kite. Also it takes a long time to reel it in by hand when the line is fully extended, but that was actually quite fun. Prism includes a catalog/ advice guide. You will want to find an open area. Not only for the obvious reasons but also for the steadiest winds. I am a novice kite flyer I only did those old stingray type kites when younger where you put the eye stickers on. I went through so many of those. This looks like it will last years so it is a good value. My suggestion would be to search on Prism kite in Amazon because there are a lot of models. I am probably going to try one with a large tail that takes no assembly at all and Prism claims can be seen from a mile away. But based on this exeperience I would have no hesitation for anyone to try Prism products to discover or re-discover the joy of kite flying.

Complete Failure of Quality Control - Prism Stowaway Delta Kite
I purchased the Prism Stowaway Delta Kite with great anticipation that it was going to contribute to a wonderful afternoon of fun after not seeing my girls for nearly a week. Upon opening my kite and assembling it I noticed the outside rods which form the kite's angular shape were shorter than I felt they should be. After attempting to fly it, the reality of my suspicion came to full fruition. The kite was completely unstable and the wings flailed wildly due to the eight inches or so of material that was unsupported at both ends of the kite due to the short rods. After re-configuring the kite I was able to slightly fix the problem but the fact remained that the rods were way to short and the longest the kite would 'fly'/flail was about 30 seconds in 8-10 mph straight winds. Prism clearly has NO quality control procedure and I am totally disappointed that my girls were let down by this terrible product. Out of hundreds of purchases on Amazon as a Prime Member for over four years this is the first complete failure of a product I've encountered and that is why I feel obligated to share my experience. Especially since it was such an easily identifiable problem.
