This a very nice small and compact tripod for your kestrel meter. It holds the meter nice and tight and it keeps it stable. It folds up nicely and it fits in a smaller pocket on my range bag. It is very plain and very simple but it functions really good.

The strap allows you to lash the mini-tripod and Kestrel to a bigger tripod giving you a free hand for writing down data etc.

Works great! Even holds cell phone for photos and videos and is adjustable to hold our Go-pro as well. Obviously it does its job in securely holding the wind gauge and we have had no issues with the hold loosening or being unsteady.

Needed a dedicated packable tripod for my Kestrel 5500, the tripod works perfectly and is quite stable. I like the rubber on the legs to reduce slippage. The ability to strap the tripod to objects works well and is secure. The included clamp is nice for iPhones and will work with the Kestrel if you do not attach the Kestrel at the bottom and attach clamp in the middle of the device. Clamping at the devise at the end will result in slippage and a non secure grip. If you buy the Kestrel 5500 kit with the included weather vane you can use the mounting bracket that comes with the vane on the tripod by screwing the device portion / cradle onto the 1/2-20 tripod.
