Innovative, Mobile, Comfortable How did you come up with the idea for this product? Xavier was working on new 3D sound formats. We quickly made the observation that the problem would not be to encode the sound in 3D but play it back. Today, when one thinks 3D sound, it is a home theater with many speakers. With new formats coming up, it means even more speakers and will become very cumbersome, expensive and definitely not mobile. We believe headphones are the best way to render audio in 3D. They are connected to an application that virtualizes speakers in space. 3D sound field works - sound quality is subpar however
I was excited to try these headphones. when they arrived, the packaging was top notch and they were nice looking and very light. However, once the Bluetooth receiver was charged - I tried it with my iPhone. I had to download the app and no matter what I tried, I could not have it point to the library of music and videos that I already had on the phone. I played regular music through iTunes and the sound quality was muffled and had a weird tone - similar to when impedance is reversed on speakers. I did get the demo music, sound effects, and sample movie to play and as I turned my head the sound field did change - but the quality was not good. I compared these to my Beats headphones with the same music - my beats were $100 less and had spectacular sound compared to these 3D Audio One head phones. I am a musician and was hoping that the fidelity would be clear enough in the sound field to pick out individual instruments in a jazz quartet tune. The technology did work, but sound quality - the stereo separation and wide fidelity is more important than what I consider to be a gimmick. I did not try playing a game - where I think that this would enhance the gameplay. For me, it is all about the music and fidelity - and these let me down. I returned them the same day. I also found these cheaper directly from the manufacturer - by $50.I also find it a pain that the bluetooth only works with the sound field positional sensors and not the sound - so you still have to have a wired connection in addition to a bluetooth connection. Once the entire experience is wireless and sound quality is better - I may try again in the future.I am only out some time and some shipping.

Not Worth It
The audio quality is significantly diminished when turning the 3D mode on - and the audio also clips when you turn your head. It's almost impossible to tell the difference between the front speakers and rear speakers, so what's really the point in emulating 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound? I am quite disappointed in these headphones - they are definitely not worth the price.

Excellent Surround Sound Headphones
Very good surround sound headphones!I mostly use them when I watch movies on my laptop and the surround sound quality is excellent! The dialogs are clearer and the feeling of immersion is amazing. I've had 5.1 Surround sound headphones before and I must say that adding headtracking to improve immersion works very well !They are very light and comfortable and seem well build. They are also good headphones without the 3D option on.The caveats: they are not bluetooth headphones (only the headtracker connection is Bluetooth and I had to get a USB Blutooth 4.0 adapter for my PC to get it work) and the Windows drivers are still in beta mode. The iOS App works fine but cannot read video files with DRM.Bottom line: amazing immersive experience for the price.

Awesome headphones
Kickstarter backer here. These headphones are awesome. Yes, they had some issues in the beginning, and still have some small software and firmware issues, but after the headband issue was fixed (free of charge, mind you) I wouldn't choose any other headphone.The 3D tracking is great, the ear cuffs are awesome, can wear them for hours without your ears hurting.The reason I knocked off a star is because of the current at time of review software and firmware issues.One thing I would like to see is a dedicated mic if they ever make another model :)

It appears the company stands behind their product and is continuing to improve it with new capabilities via firmware and app updates to add functionality and/or bit bugs, etc. I will update this review with more detailed feedback once I have had more time with the headphones.

Wish I could get a refund - Kickstarter Backer
I kickstarted these headphones and have toyed around with them for a good while. While the 3D sound works fairly well, it doesn't mask the (in my opinion) poor sound quality. I haven't used them with my computer so I'm not sure how well they work, or if they work for movies and games but getting music on my iPad to play with these headphones was a headache and I never got movies to work at all. Also was hoping to be able to use them with Netflix but that's a negative, if your looking for something amazing in these headphones you're best waiting for the next thing to come along, if I could get my money back I would do it in a heartbeat.
