Is this the same as he normalizing clenser hat smells like grapefruit?

Hello - Thank you for your inquiry. This is a different formula, for dry skin. It has a different feel and smell. However, all of the Sothys products are very nice - in texture, smell and performance. However, all formulas do smell different. The box and container look original and looks same as what I get at the spa

Do you wash your face before you apply it? I am just sceptical on how it can remove eye make up, mascara etc...

I used it to wash eye makeup. I didn't wash my face prior. It's great on eye make up, but sometimes I need another eye makeup remover if using waterproof mascara.
