Q: Why is this $30 more on amazon than your website?

Their web site wanted $16 for shipping for me (WA), which is included here as well.

Q: IS the center hole for tapping M5 or M6 thread?

The center hole diameter is 5.0 mm, which is suitable for M6 or 1/4"-20 thread. Depending on the tap you are using, it may require pre-drilling before thread tapping.

Q: How much weight can these hold?

As a long straight piece with weight in the middle and supported only on the ends, it will bend - but support - me (220 lbs) But this is too complex a topic to give any simple answer - these sticks of aluminum are only 3/4” x 3/4” - and very strong in tension or compression (standing up like a leg)… and in compression could hold a lot of weight if held perpendicular to the load and braced so as not to buckle with mild side-loading. For the real answer consult the engineering tables for 20/20 aluminum extrusion - but if you don’t understand the simple part above, get a few pieces and test your design… or go bigger I am building all the framing for my adventure van with this profile (20mm/20mm) up to 8 ft long - in tension, braced, and as tracks… bed rails and parts required to be extra strong get 20/40 (3/4” x 1.5””) - have had no part not strong enough with regular bracing and/or 1/4” plywood skins (1/2” Baltic birch for the bed platform) I would have used 20/20 as the cross-frame for the bed, but I chickened out and used 20/40 The crazy guys use 80/80 - totally overkill - but not going to fail, no question…. I chose 20/20 and happy with strength and less weight
