Minimally processed disposable straw from a natural source.
I Love that these are made from a natural source, minimally processed and are from something that would otherwise have been burned or unused. Great idea! I didn't want a straw from plastic that needs a lot of processing , or reusable straws that would require washing. Mom lives in an assisted living retirement apartment, and I wanted to make it easy and safe for everyone. These are perfect for our needs. There is no taste. I'm not sure if they eventually will come in different lengths, but these are about 7.5", which fit our needs, too. It says they are straws, not stirrers, but you can stir with them, as we stir a powder supplement in water for Mom before she uses it to drink from. They are not unbreakable, as a plastic straw can be (which is hard to put in a plastic bag so it doesn't break the bag), which is also good. I probably couldn't use them for my thick smoothie that I make for myself, but haven't tried it, so maybe they would. I think this straw from nature is a wonderful idea and hope people will support this company.

The Perfect Straws
These straws are perfect for any drink (except for anything very thick, like a smoothie or milkshake). We love them for any cocktail, especially a tiki drink. They have the right aesthetic and can be snipped shorter depending on the height of the cup you’re using, which is great for presentation. They’re durable and won’t disintegrate when left in a drink for long periods the way paper does. They do have the strong feel of plastic while being nicer looking and a little better for the environment.

The Perfect Straw.... For Me
I’ve been trying to get away from straws for a while and was somewhat successful until Covid19. I love Starbucks and well now nothing can be reused for the time being. At the same time (At least I’m California), single use single straws aren’t readily available. I’m not one of these people that NEEDS straws but I am a tad overly paranoid about others handling my food, containers, etc. (especially right now). So when I’m at work it’s not possible to wash/rinse the tops of my drink, so I opt for straws. Since it’s unlikely someone touched it with their bare hands. What I love about these straws are they are biodegradable! Reusable metal straws are fine but I don’t always have time to wash and sanitize them. So these straws are a time saver in that aspect. I also love how they fit perfectly through the tops of Starbucks cups; hot and cold alike. They also seem fairly sturdy. I’m not sure if it wouldn’t break down after an hour, but it seems to last the time it takes to consume a normal sized 16 ounce beverage. The down fall of this product; the price. I’m all about being as green within reason but most people are going to have a problem with this price point. I don’t, because the reality is any decent product that is striving to be “green” from start to finish is going to cost us in the short term monetarily. Is what it is. For me this is a great investment. I average about three drinks a week, times Four is 12 per month. So that means this box of straws is going to last almost a year. Seems silly not to spend the little extra money on something I know will not contribute to the demise of our planet. Silly side note, these straws are not individually wrapped. I know some people feel strongly about that. It’s eco-friendly. Probably should waste additional paper to wrap them anyway, but there you have it.

Safety
These straws fall apart in your beverage causing a choke hazard. I would like my money back please.

Finally, this is THE straw!
Like all of us, I've been using straws since before I can even remember. A few years back, my gf made me switch to paper straws to save the turtles. I was like, "baby, paper straws kill trees!"... but, of course, the turtles won! So three years of paper straws at the casa... they feel weird in my mouth & fingers, easily crush, etc., etc... until a buddy told me about these new wheat straws! They're solid, don't crush and feel like a straw should feel. So... 1) save the turtles, 2) save the trees, and 3) ENJOY YOUR STRAW!

Meh. Not impressed.
While I like that these straws are biodegradable, the fact that they break or split so easily, with the slightest bend or squeeze, makes them useless. They’re also quite narrow, as compared to typical straws. I’m glad I tried them, but I won’t buy them again.

Can you love a drinking straw?
Straws are so environmentally unfriendly - but I really like to have them for my grand kids. So these are good for the environment and not all those bright colors you normally see. So for a straw, they are great!
