Good deal and good product
It's a good deal and came well packaged. When soaked it made a good amount, and it works perfect for mixing soil. Didn't have any bad smell or signs of poor quality materials.

Favorite tortoise bedding
I’ve never used for plants but have read plenty enough that if I were to plant I would use. I have recommended this kind and use this kind when I am buying to have extra bedding on hand for my baby sulcatas. Seems to hold moisture pretty well. Easy to mix and use.

Great renewable alternative to peat moss!
Love using Coir instead of peat moss. When I found out that peat moss is not a renewable product, I switched to coir years ago. Works exactly the same and since they are compacted, they are so easy to store. Place them in some water and watch them swell. I only do one block at a time as it is deceiving how much one block can supply. Don't hesitate in trying these.

Good product
This is a good product and is great in my seed starting mix, but I will say this is definitely more difficult to use than the ready made stuff. That’s kind of a given, but it’s definitely added a lot of time to my process because I don’t need the whole brick. I broke off some smaller bits (difficult to do) because I really didn’t want to get the whole thing wet if I’m not using it. If you have a larger project then I don’t think you’ll have as much of an issue, but it’s still a chore to try to get it all to soften. It’s not instant. It’s a space saver though and also more cost effective.

Misleading claims, underweight, and poor quality control; not worth the extra work.
I’ve used coco coir for years, including brands like Burpee, and this is by far the most frustrating batch I’ve worked with. While it technically becomes usable after a lot of effort, I can’t recommend it for several reasons: • Underweight: The product says each brick is 1.4 lbs, totaling 11.2 lbs for 8 bricks. Mine weighed just over 9 lbs; that’s just about 2 lbs short. • Extremely slow to hydrate: Despite 100+ degree outdoor heat, soaking for 32+ hours, and regular stirring and breaking by hand, I still had rock-solid chunks the size of Oreos (maybe even a little bigger) that wouldn’t break down. • Foreign debris: I found multiple pebbles mixed in. Not a dealbreaker, but definitely not what I expect from a gardening product labeled “organic” and “clean.” • Potentially misleading claims: The listing says “low EC and pH balanced,” but based on the poor quality, slow hydration, and lack of buffering/rinsing instructions, I have serious doubts. I had to manually rinse and flush it like unprocessed coir, to ensure that it would be clean and safe for my plants. If you’re trying to save money and don’t mind doing a lot of extra prep work, including rinsing and hand filtering, you might still get decent use out of it. But if you’re hoping for consistency, quality control, or anything close to what the label promises, I’d look elsewhere.

Great product for starting out seedlings
I had a fast delivery of exactly what was ordered. I've used peat moss in the past in my soilless mixes but have found that Coco Coir has a better water retention.
